Are ASUS aware of the issues with 591? Or should we still be reporting them?
Just yesterday, I had the same issue where router was pingable, but no internet, and was not able to get into the admin UI.

ASUS are aware of issues raised on this forum, but it never does any harm to send a feedback form to remind them of their failings ;-)

March 26, 2019 at 11:21 am #2496As I’ve said before you don’t quite know what router you are going to get when you reboot it. I’m at nearly 37 days and still on 47% usage. No issues at all. I bet that the next time it reboots it doesn’t come back in the state it’s in now. The only difference between this time and the last more buggy time it booted up is that vpn is off. Other than that I’ve got between five and seven devices connected, two hdds, one running quite a lot of torrents and the other is used to stream high res audio (previous routers would have a bottleneck with high res audio, torrents, and browsing happening all at once, but not this one).

April 5, 2019 at 9:34 pm #2588Im close to returning this router, had 2 random reboots with the last 2 days, even tried reverting to firmware v1.10.06 build585,but made no difference,I think Asus need to take there heads out of there asses and sort this out…..

April 5, 2019 at 9:38 pm #2589Is the router rebooting or is it just loss of access to internet, usually the DSL-AC88U is fairly stable for DSL connections? maybe a line fault?

April 5, 2019 at 9:49 pm #2591If you can , keep an eye on the RAM/Memory usage during the day, and see if this increase to 80 / 90% as this is usually the cause, if not then you may have a faulty unit? then time to buy a Fritz!Box ;-)

Hasn’t been this problem with clicking (probably relais on DSL-output) 1-2 years ago too?
We discussed these issues in asus-forum and whirlpool but maybe related to DSL-AC68U.
As far as I can remember it was a firmware issue, DSL driver switches between different DSL-types/protocols or something like that or trying to reset line by completely disconnecting some time, only seen on some (for asus logic problematic) lines, not all users had this problem.
Sold all asus and now a Fritz-fan without all those buggy firmware problems anymore.
Hardware has been good for me all the time but they missed to employ some good programmers or at least one in Taiwan!

April 6, 2019 at 8:44 am #2595Will do im at 176mb used at moment…
176Mb is good and norm if you have AiProtection disabled, will be interesting to see if it creeps up over the next couple of days.

The clicking, @Katana1074 said his better half heard the click, the DSL-AC88U used to have the issue when the router would click multiple times and this was resolved as they (ASUS) removed the G.fast option from Auto-Synch settings. If I remember correctly ?

April 6, 2019 at 2:17 pm #2601Hi All…
Hopefully ive resolved this,I had installed a BT Master Socket NTE5C + VDSL MK4.
The faceplate has a habit of coming loose so ive superglued this on and hopefully will have no further disconnections….

April 6, 2019 at 2:23 pm #2602Interesting and thanks for update, I would be surprised if a bad/poor master socket would cause the router to reboot, but this will be an interesting exercise.
Let us know how it goes?
