September 28, 2018 at 9:47 pm #897Not completely true. In the 540, at the start, I have seen more memory allocation, but after 20 seconds (+/-) the memory came back to the ‘normal’ initial value.
PS: The Firewall is ON, after the Switch OFF and came back, now seems works correctly (I’m able to navigate also in the Italian forum), except that the ports are closed instead stealth (but I think this is a know problem of this version).

Yes, I also believe the release 540 had FW issues, memory usage so far from you above chart/table has only used 2Mb extra after 9 hours, your 546 chart, showed 20Mb extra used after 9 ish hours ???
Interesting ;)

September 29, 2018 at 11:09 am #905Yes, I confirm that the 540 has a better memory management. After 14 hours there is only 3MB more than the starting value. The configuration is exactly the same of the test done with the build 546. Probably this is the better starting point for a new firmware without the memory leak.

Good news so far ;)

Good news for ASUS ;) if this same memory usage tomorrow, I will let ASUS know on Monday, hopefully this helps them with a good starting point for new firmware’s, if they do not know already regarding beta540

Hi @gigios, this is still showing no increase in memory usage by the DSL-AC88U running Beta 540 firmware. I think you have proved very well beta540 is a good point to allow ASUS to start new firmware development. I am happy for you to stop and will tell ASUS of your good work and results.
Thnk you for your kind help ;)

September 30, 2018 at 5:45 pm #939October 1, 2018 at 2:39 pm #952On Italian Forum we have received this answer from ASUS:
“Thanks for confirmation. We also confirm that Build540 no such memory leak issue, so only several commits left to check, any update will inform you.”
Now I’m crossing my fingers for a solution.

October 1, 2018 at 3:51 pm #959October 1, 2018 at 5:07 pm #961October 2, 2018 at 10:40 am #976ASUS have given me a copy of there latest DSL-AC88U firmware with memory leak fix, see below and please be aware, this is a beta, so read ASUS DSL Beta Firmware Policy, top of ASUS Forum and I am happy to pass back comments to ASUS if this helps?
We have found root cause of memory leak issue, but not sure whether this is the only issue at the moment. This version is based on Build578 codebase, with Broadcom Patch5/ all WiFi patches adopted and with this memory leak issue fixed, should be optimal version currently.
