September 26, 2018 at 7:33 am #846@gigios – Thanks for update, it is looking like the memory usage is slowly increasing, which is a good indication that this build456 also has the Broadcom Kernel memory issues.
We need to test for a few more days, just to make sure ;)

September 26, 2018 at 8:22 pm #859No problem ;)
I want to test again for one day and after try to disable the firewall, to check if the problem could be related the bug fix (as suggested on the Italian forum).
Have you other suggestion on test to do?
PS: I’m with an ADSL 20 MB, but I think this is not important for the memory problem (I have seen in the Italian forum many user without memory problem also with last beta, I don’t know if this is related to the type of connection)

September 26, 2018 at 9:23 pm #861ASUS have asked me to test beta540 as this should then be the final test for ASUS to decide a new start point for firmware….. I will be testing over weekend.
Beta540 was withdrawn as also had Ports issue, but I will endure for the sake of getting this sorted ;o
I am on VDSL (G.inp) and I think only other area to test maybe WebHistory, turn On or Off, as this was fixed in release 540 ?
Thanks for all you help ;)

September 27, 2018 at 6:48 am #864OK, Just got a strange email from ASUS stating very clearly they never asked me (they did) or other users to test and that they have dedicated field testers in UK/IT/AU/NZ doing these tests.
So all that have kindly helped test these beta firmware’s for the DSL-AC88U, thank you for you assistance, but seems ASUS have no need any more for testers.
Update: looks like some individuals have complained to ASUS that the public, have been asked to test beta firmware’s, ‘which is exactly what RMerlin does via his ASUSWRT-Merlin firmware beta releases’ as a result ASUS wish to re affirm, they never asked for assistance in (we are not asking users to try, as itβs beta version) testing beta firmware’s.
I have asked ASUS for clarity between ‘ASKED and ALLOWED‘
So alas looks like no more beta firmware’s will be published, at least via my Forums until ASUS clarify further their stance regarding beta firmware’s and public access.

September 27, 2018 at 8:14 am #865September 27, 2018 at 10:55 am #867Yes, not good news indeed, could means fixes take even longer to be released, quality testing is the big issue with ASUS DSL Routers, not tested properly, hence all these issues and with no/little real world testers helping ASUS, the firmware will not improveΒ ;(

September 28, 2018 at 6:08 pm #880Ok! Now I stop to report the memory on the 547 because my feeling is that the problem still present also without the Firewall.
I don’t know if it makes sense to ask ASUS the 540 to try on my configuration.

Thank you for update and as you say, firewall is not the issue with memory loss, I have a copy of link to 540 if you wish to try this also?

September 28, 2018 at 8:22 pm #882If it’s not a problem for you, and for ASUS :), yes. I can start a new ‘debug’ session.
