Well, infineon to infineon may give lower sync and lower ping, but broadcom in infineon always sync higher.
@sentinel uk
Just a small update to yesterday screenshot, because of milion fec errors download is on cap now and upload is on fast patch (resync last night) . Good think is that is a lot less errors now so maybe these won’t be to bad for DLM.

That ammount of Error Seconds in upstream direction looks quite bad to me. I think you should ensure that all cables on your premises are well connected, not showing any sign of damage and just generally nice and tidy. If that does not solve your error seconds you should call your ISP.

August 9, 2019 at 10:42 am #3731@ Mrk26 – Broadcom does synch well compared with others and is good also over noisy lines.
Good news regarding first synch, maybe worthย leaving alone for a while, G,fast is only downstream and you are still getting 11.000 FEC per hour, so hopefully this will improve also over time ;-)

August 9, 2019 at 10:49 am #3734I moved in few months ago to quiet new property (less than 2 years old) and since then i was on the case to check all extensions etc. Originally I sync about 69Mb/s and this make me think that something is wrong with wiring in the house because in master socket I sync around 73mb/s, so I start reading the whole internet :P and looked into all extension (yest they all was connected to master socket). After I find this out firs job was to find where they join together, so after a half day looking for nicely hidden plate in one of the wardrobes i disconnected all extensions apart of one to which is connected modem (can’t connect direct to master socket because is placed by the front door, I couldn’t imagine worse place) that give me straightaway 12Mb/s boost on sync (on modem currently used not the Asus), when compared with master socket there is no much difference now (maybe kilobytes). So in this case I’m convinced about wiring in my house. I believe the Broadcom chipsetย is to sensitive because on lantiq chipset modem I get around 140k fec errors in week time.
If you look on my latest screen shoot you will see that I’m capped on download now because of millions of these errors. I believe if amount of these errors will keep to high (even that modem do great job to correct them, DLM don’t like it) I will be capped even lower, and then will be a time to give a call to provider I guess.

I will leave it alone now an will see what happen. Good think is that my ping is already lower then before sync so little steps forward :D

August 9, 2019 at 11:21 am #3742Thanks a lot @UK Sentinel, much appreciated.
I will wait few more days to see how DLM will react and if that will end up with lower cap then I will do things from my side :D

August 9, 2019 at 11:31 am #3745It’s not new but I asked @UK Sentinel if he can get fw with unlocked telnet, I asked Asus but they wasn’t kind enough for me.
If telnet is unlocked that give another advantages with Broadcom chipset modems, and this will be very helpful for me at the current situation.

I needed unlocked telnet to put cap on my line, yes that is correct. If you cap line modem will reboot with same max speed just lower data rate speed but also with higher SNR what should help to reduce FEC errors.
I couldn’t wait :P , first cap applied and will report results. (already lower amount of FEC errors).
