October 6, 2021 at 8:57 pm #15705If the XR500/1000 didn’t have upgrade issues, it would be number 1
So, wouldn’t the netduma r2 which has a better update tracking be the best choice?
I don’t need wifi so it doesn’t matter if it’s not wifi 6

October 7, 2021 at 6:43 am #15706My view is the Netduma R2 is good value for money but uses Mediatek Chipsets (not Broadcom or Qualcomm)
- CPU1: MediaTek MT7621AT (880 MHz, 2 cores)
- RAM1: 256 MiB (Nanya NT5CB128M16FP-DI)
The ASUS ASUS RT-AC57U uses the same CPU, and in my view the Netduma R2 is an Entry level / cost friendly gaming router.

Glad you are doing your research.

Higher CPU Clock Speeds means more stuff is processed more quickly, and this in-turn reduces delay.
Same applies for RAM, less need for CPU usage if you have more RAM
I am sure the R2 will be OK, but not the Best !
Note: DumaOS has lots of great features for gamers and is British

November 14, 2021 at 2:01 pm #16230Is there anyway to turn off those bleeding Aura RGB lights at a certain time, it is annoying in the bedroom at night so keep them off all the time. Just wondering if there is a setting you could turn them off about 12 midnight to 8 in the morning instead of turning them off by app. At the moment I just keep them off

November 14, 2021 at 2:40 pm #16232November 14, 2021 at 3:12 pm #16233It does seem a missed opportunity. If you send A feedback form by the Routers UI, this with others that may have also complained might encourage ASUS to change this ;)

Not sure if you are aware, the button on Top at the front of the router allows you to tap thru the various light displays, when I had my DSL-AX82U plugged in last, I settled on a constant (not flashing) Red/Green (I forget which) which made a great night light for downstairs in the hallway

November 15, 2021 at 2:47 pm #16275Glad the routers lights are now sorted ;)
usually when a dsl modem/router is rebooted it can take a day or so to get back to its previous synchs rate (speed) if there is not a problem etc.
Give it a day or 3 and check again
