Free RAM is sitting at 166MB and is going down by 10 MB each day like the offline beta did too. For me the offline and online beta are acting the same so far. Let’s see if any lockups afer 4/5 days uptime.

@DodgyDrains – with the offline beta I shared with yourself, can you recall if you TrendMicro services worked, I know you said parental controls, but did that also include Trend services ? If so, I will release the offline beta you have used as this is getting silly (hence why I try to stick with the DSL side of ASUS)

I only use the Parental Control which worked on the offline beta and is working on the online beta too.

Just intime for the weekend, should be interesting

I don’t know why I keep doing this, recipe for disaster

I did let ASUS know that the offline XT8 beta seemed to be stable, but no idea regarding this new beta, seems slightly newer release (numerically) , so could be interesting ?
I have updated to the new official beta via the UI by ticking ‘I would like to retrieve beta firmware’. All nodes updated and re-established mesh connection without any issues.

So far, this offline beta FW seems to be working fine and is stable. After 7 days uptime no lockups and RAM is being freed and without going below 70MB. Currently sitting at 95MB.

Free RAM went down to 76 MB and has recovered to 95 MB now. I did not do anything for that to happen. Last time it freed up RAM on previous FW it locked up after a few hours. Hopefully it doesn’t happen this time

Has free RAM at 86MB been consistent ?
Has been reducing each day by 10 MB. I’ll check tomorrow morning.

How’s the beta been over the weekend, positive ?
Uptime of 5 days and 8 hours. Free RAM is sitting at 86MB. It’s been running fine for me without any lock ups.

How’s the test progressing with the new (offline) beta ?
Still working fine, free RAM is now at 146 MB. Seems to decrease by around 10 MB each day.

After the latest official firmware issues, I bit the bullet and updated the firmware to the Asuswrt-Merlin 386.07_2-gnuton1 more out of curiosity and so far I’m very impressed.
I have used it too and it was extremely stable.

Everything seems fine for now, but obviously there probably will be no Parental Controls as it is beta.
Looks like Parental Control is activated on the beta. If there are no lock ups, I will stay on this beta FW.

Great news, will be interesting if the original Error log message reappears ‘/var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device (retry in 60s)’

I did not see this specific message in my Error logs. I think it was @Raven who had this error before the lock up. For me it was just ‘out of memory (1560)’ but could not see if there was anything prior to this log.
I have gone ahead and updated the router as well now
. Hopefully doesn’t mess up my working from home. Everything seems fine for now, but obviously there probably will be no Parental Controls as it is beta. You need to login in order to vote
@UK Sentinell, would you mind sending me the new beta to test via email? I can test over the weekend if I have time. I think Asus should give you a set of XT8’s for ‘testing’ purposes
No problem, will send email with link tomorrow

The new beta was already better for me. After updating the first node (furthest away from the router) it re-established the wireless mesh connection. I will not update the router until the weekend as I need to work from home.

As others will hopefully confirm, seems the firmware XT8 3.0.0.4.388.21099 release is far from ideal, did you have any issues when using the previous release 49873. If you did not then I would strongly advise you to downgrade firmware to Version 3.0.0.4.386.49873 and see if that helps.
I would definitely advise to go back to 49873.
