Well the inexorable rise continues. I’m up to 217mb today. Last time I posted it was 210mb. It’s not rising fast, but it’s been up for 8 days, and started off in 194 zone (I think). It’s not fast enough to be exciting! I’ll check back next week.
This may be a silly question…. Have you tried factory reset after updating firmware, without restoring previous settings?

The wire is only 1.5M long, which is slightly longer than I need. Hopefully it doesn’t cause any issues with my line. Speed test has actually shown a slight increase from a best of 73.5MB to 74.5MB. Not much of an improvement, but wasn’t expecting anyway as my Sync was already at maximum.

I have always thought that some ISP cables are better than others?
I was getting some CRC and ES errors but not enough to cause DLM to react. The CAT6 is much thicker cable and is twisted to reduce interference. It can only be better than the ISP provided ADSL cable.

I always flash firmware twice with a factory reset each time. I do get spikes in CPU usage.
Today swapped the ISP provided ADSL cable to a CAT6 one. After over 6 hours connection no CRC or ES errors downstream. Hoping it stays like this.

I’m on the stock 585 and not using AI. It seems like RAM usage is increasing 1-2% each day. Currently on day 12, and 260MB used (57%). At this rate, will I be out of memory in 43 days time?
I am on beta585 and don’t have any RAM usage problem. I do no use AI as everyone seems to find it buggy. Sitting on 180MB used for 3 days now.
@UK Sentinel, I have not heard anything back from Asus regarding possible upstream SNR bug. Seems like they have so many other more important bugs to deal with.

DLM has now given me full sync speed with a bit of room to Max rate. Surprising as it’s been freezing cold for the past 2-3 days.
Are these error counts acceptable for VDSL2?

I have sent feedback and mentioned your name. Will revert back to beta585 which has been most stable for me so far.

Hopefully others can say also if they have noticed similar reading
I thought the upstream SNR had gone from 15dB to 7dB due to the cold weather. But it was actually due to firmware change. With beta585 (and the HG633) the upstream SNR is 15dB but with official 585 and beta586 it is reported as 7dB.
Could that have stopped DLM from reducing downstream SNR target? All other line stats were virtually identical with the different firmware.

I had a full DLM reset on 07/11/18. With those 2 builds DLM refused to reduce my SNR from 6dB to 5dB.
I then decided to revert to beta build585 late last night on 17/11/2018 (just to experiment). Within 6 hours DLM kicked in and reduced SNR to 5dB. Stats attached.
The only difference I noticed was upstream SNR is higher on beta585 than the other 2 firmware.

The connection is a lot more stable now with new wiring and port change from Openreach. The pings are really good so far. In total it took 4 visits from Openreach with the final one a full DLM reset. 3 of the 4 engineers were amazingly helpful. Hopefully the AC88U doesn’t start to play up.
Now that the firmware has stabilised, hopefully Asus can iron out the last few bugs and start adding the missing features.

You wait ages for a bus and then 2 come along at once……
I have flashed the new beta build586 twice, once with UI factory reset after flashing and once with manual factory reset after flashing.
