Not sure if I am reading this right.  I think your stats show you are on fastpath, in which case FEC errors will be lower than interleaving?

I get 30k FEC in around an hour.  Connection has been rock solid so far for me and keeps downstream SNR at around 6.2dB day or night.

I got a replacement sent to me from Amazon as the model sent had a manufacture date of 2017.  The manufacture date of the one where the wifi died on me was also 2017.  This one has a manufacture date of march 18.

Is your max attainable 66.2MB?

I am sure there is chart online, never really looked, ‘job for you’ – the pic is from my Fritz!Box when I plugged it in a couple of months ago, so at the time I had a good (low) SNR, not plugged it back in as to busy gaming with my DrayTeK 130 modem and Netgear XR500

I searched but not found anything online yet.  Are you getting the full 80/20 sync with your DrayTek 130?  What sort of CRC/ES/SES errors do you get per day on your line with it?

Thanks, yes I am about 450 metres away from the cabinet.  I am new to this VDSL2, looks like the distance is measured differently to ADSL.  Is there a VDSL2 table that shows attenuation v distance? The downstream SNR on your post shows as 4dB, was that set by the DSlam or did you ‘tweak’ it?

Both of those models are non Broadcom DSL chipset, but yes do agree the variation does seem excessive.

Could it be that the DSL-AC88U is reporting my attenuation incorrectly?  18 dB would mean I am 1.3 km from the cabinet right?  There is no way I could get over 75000 kbps sync if I was that far from the cabinet.

I will leave it and see what happens.

Are you currently using this model?  Do you get any of these errors on your line?

These are the error recordings from the D-Link DSL3782 after 10 minutes.  FEC errors do not go up as much as the AC88U.

I was at work so couldn’t get a screenshot earlier.  Updated DSL Log file attached.

This is the first time I am using the router on FTTC.  Only bought it a couple of days ago.  The HG633 does not have ability to display these errors.

He changed some wiring which apparently brought it ‘within tolerance’.

I am going to use a D-Link wifi mesh so will probably just turn off the wifi on this router.  What’s the easiest way to do this?

In 13 hours up-time I have 20 CRC, 17 ES, 1 SES and 761658 FEC.  Does this look OK or bad?  Just don’t want DLM to kick in and start doing it’s ‘optimisation’ again.

Thanks again, very helpful as usual.

What is the difference between the Line Attenuation under the VDSL band status and the Line Attenuation under the Line status?

Also, are these temps in the attachment normal?

Thanks, I have an Openreach engineer who is currently checking the line and doing something.

Any ideas what the VDSL band status relates to?

I have used the DSL3782 & HG633, both from TalkTalk.  DSL3782 shows 12.5dB and HG633 shows 12.9dB.  18.5dB seems a bit high compared to the other 2.

The attached system info is with HG633

At the bottom of the Asus DSL log, what do the VDSL band status relate to?

Thanks @UK Sentinel, it’s Broadcom so looks like it is Huawei.  Screenshot of DSL log attached.  I have just connected the DSL AC88U.  I am running the latest beta build585.

Not really sure the Line Attenuation is being reported correctly.  On all the other modem/routers it is 12.5dB to 12.9dB.  Am I right in saying this is reporting it as 18.5dB?

Hi UK Sentinel,

I remember you and babis3g from the now defunct Asus support forum.  I searched your profile name and came across this forum.  Great to see you are still around to help and advise.

I have now re-purchased the DSL-AC88U hoping the bug where the wifi died is now fixed.  Had to return the original one due to so many bugs.  I accepted some of it as an early adopter/guinea pig.

Are you able to let me know how to find out on this router whether I am connected to an ECI/Huawei cabinet?  I am pretty sure it is Huawei.
