. UK Sentinel Said:Also seems like all previous releases are now not available for download, maybe a bug in previous releases also.Got to love those ASUS guys and girls for their CC

In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).
Asus seem to have also removed all previous FW for BQ16 too and only left the previous 2 online. They must be doing some sort of purging of older FW versions.

Mine is exactly the same, I purchased an item that someone purchased from Amazon. For 2 years I will need to return it to the store who will arrange this with Amazon. 3rd year will be a hail Mary and hope……

Finally got a response from Asus. Apparently the seller has taken responsibility for warranty on this and I need to approach the seller if I have any warranty issues. This is why the warranty is shown as expired one day before the manufactured date. Feels like I have been fobbed off, but hey as hardware goes Asus routers have been good for me. Lets hope I do not have any issues hardware wise.

. radiomyke Said:Reading the comments about the guarantee made me double check I’d registered my pair of BQ16s. Fortunately I have; unfortunately it says ‘Warranty Expired’ on my account. I’ve sent them an enquiry.
In other news, I’ve been really pleased with the setup. I previously had an AX11000 with a pair of XT8s as nodes which worked flawlessly but I changed my ISP from BT to Zen to take advantage of the 1.6 gig service, so needed a new router/mesh setup. Originally I planned to get a BE98 with a BQ16 as a node but changed my mind when I found a reasonable deal on the pair of BQ16s. Set up was straight forward enough; I’ve got a Sky Q and 4 mini boxes plus several Sonos speakers and had read that others had problems with these, so was pleasantly surprised that every thing works well. In fact, I only need the 2 BQ16s for full house coverage and the garden too.
Just need to get the guarantee reinstated…
My 2 x BQ16’s have also been flawless for my use case so far with an uptime of nearly 24 days.
Mine also says warranty expired on 18/11/2024 after finally managing to ‘register’ using the serial number on one of the nodes. I have sent a copy of my invoice and asked Asus to update the warranty expiry date.

I cannot find the ‘VIP card’ in the box for the 2xBQ16 I purchased.
Is there a way to register them on my Asus account without it?
I tried the serial numbers on the units but they are not recognised. I know from previous Asus products I purchased, you needed to enter the serial number from the ‘VIP card’ and not the actual units.

Any ideas what these weird repeated logs mean?

I also currently have a Dyson Animal purchased a good few years ago and looking to buy a replacement soon. Was looking at this Shark one too. I know TopCashback are giving up to 20% cashback via Shark directly.
Have you used the Shark vacuum yet?

I decided to keep the BQ16 after testing it for a few days and confirmation on the EoL date was the icing on the cake. As the official price has been reduced all over the internet, the seller kindly gave me a further discount on his original price and I have bought them for £600
. Essentially a £300 reduction on the brand new price, even if purchased directly from Asus. You need to login in order to vote
Thanks for getting confirmation. The fixed EoL date makes more sense.

My BQ16 setup has been rock solid so far since day 1.
Noticed one thing in the logs, any ideas what this means as it appears in the logs several times?
kernel: WLC_SCB_DEAUTHORIZE error (-30)

Good to hear Openreach fibre will be available for you soon. No doubt it will be mega expensive.
Any chance you can get confirmation if UK support of the BQ16 will actually end on 31/12/2026 or is that a typo by Asus?
