Fixed an issue that could cause DNS resolution failures and loss of Internet access when DNSSEC is enabled.
Security Fixes
Web management interface: Strengthened data handling for the connected device list and added stricter content checks when importing configuration profiles.
Network speed test service: Added allowlist validation for service command parameters, so that only expected values are accepted.
System protection service: Adjusted address parameter validation and event logging, strengthening access control between local services.
Certificate import process: Adjusted file handling and password passing, with stricter parameter validation.
Third-party account authorization: Narrowed the recipients of authorization data to better protect authorization information.

Notification service: Added identity verification for local connection sources and tightened the related file permission settings.
Mobile device connection authorization: Added a device matching check to strengthen the access token issuance process.
Device discovery service: Removed a non-essential internal function endpoint to strengthen overall access control.

I am not familiar with the Reaper, any info ? I have only been using ASUS’s firmwares and I haven’t had any issues so far and the mesh system has been rock stable since day one for me (2 x BQ16’s and a BD4 Outdoor). I’ll manualy update the firmware tonight and post if any issues.

I would stay away from Reaper for now as it is not stable yet. It is being worked on by a developer on snbforum.com

Thanks for this, but checking either through the phone app and/or the browser, it says there’s no update available and that I have the latest firmware already (first time this happens). In any case I’ll do a manual update.

I have been testing since the first BQ16 release. The one bug I found where the devices/clients were not showing in the AiMesh tab looks like has now been fixed. The member who is working on it seems very responsive and works on fixes really quickly. Hope he does not take on too much. BQ16 UI looks so much better now.

Looks like the BQ16 is not recieving the Asus firmware update love this time round, maybe they are working on it for a bit longer to make it even better.
I went over 100 days of uptime with no issues at all.

The KB5089573 update is designed for x64 (AMD64) and ARM64 systems so looks like good news for yourself.
Given your using the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D which is high end CPU, the improvements maybe less noticeable.
What MB you running with that setup ?

Built the PC myself as a project with my son couple of months ago. I had 32GB ddr5 RAM and a few gen5 ssd’s that I purchased before the AI apocalypse hit us.

Yes, it does sound interesting in that the boost works in very short bursts (roughly 1–3 seconds) to improve responsiveness rather than sustained performance.
Are you going to try it with KB5089573 which is already available now as an optional “Preview” update for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 – otherwise I think KB5089573 will be deployed sometime in June

I updated to the this ‘2026-05 Preview Update (KB5089573) (26200.8524)’ on 27/05/2026. I have a AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, no idea if it is actually doing anything for me. I heard File Explorer is supposed to be more snappy. It does seems a bit less cumbersome when loading, but not sure if it is just a placebo.

I had similar issues after changing my DNS from cloudflare to Quad9. Could not access spedtest.net or load other sites properly on the WiFi on any of my devices including the mobile. The problem only happened on some sites and not all.
Then turned off WiFi on the mobile and used mobile data and everything worked fine on the mobile.
Turned out to be a DNS issue and the only way to fix it was to reset the ISP router and set it up from scratch with Quad9 DNS. Rebooting or resetting just the BQ16’s did not fix it.

Yeap, dirty flashed after using the the previous FW for 130+ days uptime with no issues.
Hopefully this one is as stable for me as the last one.
