I know this is 3 years down the line for me (Regarding 2025)
Firstly will the DSL AX82U work with FTTP
Or is it better to purxhase a non modem version ??
Also im reading that BT and Plusnet have brought out routers that have the phone socket built in for existing phones so you can voip
Do you think Asus will release a router with this phone socket built in before 2025 ??
Im guessing If Asus does not – then I would have to buy a network switch with a adapter to attach current dect phones to FTTP – Or do you know of a better way to accomplish this ??

Not sure if i am asking this in right section
But does the Dsl AX82u support DHCP Opt 60/61 for Fibre FTTP connections ??
If not – is there any other Asus router supports the above ??
Or is it a case –Â just awaiting for Asus to release updated Firmware !!

Just downloaded the latest firmware for the DSL AX82U and……..OH OH
Firstly the RGB has now stopped working …..
The WiFi connection took ages to connect !!
And i also noticed that the zip file ends in 49674 – but when unzipped file is 49606
Ever since i have had this unit every FW installed has always matched the last 5 digits of the zipped file……. until todays version
My next step is to reset unit and see if it makes any difference …….
Would you think that this is a bug and maybe that Asus has released the wrong file in the zipped FW ??

I am considering now just actually operating via the hardware toggle
Your suggestion has been taken onboard
But yes Asus is correct…….Not at all Convienent !!
Kind of makes a user WiFi schedule pointless
It will be the remembering to operate via the hardware switch !!

Appreciate you getting back on this issue so quickly
So now i will just turn off the router when not in building – hence keeping WiFi schedule intact when router is turned back on again
Yes i know i will sacrifice my fibre speed by turning the unit off – but rather that – than having to log into router every time to turn schedule back on !
Thanks for finding this info from Asus

Maybe this is another bug ??
This happens when you config schedule wifi on the DSL AX82U and also configure the physical button on device to turn off Wireless temporarily
By doing the above it actually turns off the wireless schedule you have created
Have tested this and when i go into the wireless settings the schedule for the wireless has been disabled
So everytime now i press the physical button on the 82U it will disable the wifi schedule i have created
So i have to go back into settings to re enable the wifi schedule everytime i temporarily disable WiFi !!
Just letting you know that the latest firmware DOES NOT fix the above issue that my router is currently suffering
Have completely reset the router and rebuilt – Still the same issue with the WiFi Schedule and hardware button

Thank you for your guidance on this UpNp issue. All green and correct now in TM but to get mine to show same as yours – I had to turn of Dual Wan
Not sure if this is correct behaviour or not….
Would this be a bug at all ??
Thanks again for your efforts on this issue ……

So just upgraded to the latest firmware that was released on 17th June. Now on Inbult protection by TM still showing that UpNp is not turned off..Checked the setting 4 times and it is turned off in my settings – has a blue accent against it.Am I missing another setting to turn this off ?? And if i am where do you go to – to disable this upnp ??
Also when you save your settings to a file. After resetting the unit and then reloading in saved settings. When you enter your ISP settings again – as it always asks to auto reconnect – It is reverting the WiFI WPA settings back to default.Have to keep changing these everytime i reset router after installing saved settings (These settings were saved in the backup file). Also the Aura RGB settings default aswell .
Apart from that … mostly pleased with the unit….far better range than previous unit….
