Hmm, ASUS have come back and say TrendMicro BWDPI and other areas are working as expected.

Alas I do not own a Wifi 7 router so cannot confirm, I have had challenges in the past with QoS until CAKE QoS was introduced via ASUSWRT-Merlin.

CAKE QoS from a gaming perspective was a game changer for us and maybe something worth considering, it is based on fairness and does not offer value with line speeds above 300 Mbps.

Great and thank you, I sent ASUS a quick summary early stating that TrendMicro BWDPI (Bi-directional Deep Packet Inspection) and its intelligent QoS (iQoS) might itself be failing to correctly assign classification in my view and this problem has been around for a little while with Wifi 7 devices.

Hopefully something ASUS and TrendMicro can get to grips with, if they are not already

ASUS have kindly come back and said/asked is it the Bandwidth Settings of Adaptive QoS which is a limitation on the GT-BE98 ?

Welcome, your the 2nd forum member to find a good deal on a pair of BQ16s,  I need to look harder

ASUS routers tend to be reliable in terms of hardware out of the box, good luck with the guarantee

Yes, not a well published ASUS router compared to the ROG Rapture GT-BE98.

The Asus ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 and GT-BE98 are both high-performance gaming routers, but they have some key differences:

    • Release Date: The GT-BE19000 was released later, in January 2024, compared to the GT-BE98’s release in January 2023.
    • Wireless Speed: The GT-BE19000 offers faster wireless speeds, reaching up to 11529 Mbps, compared to the GT-BE98’s 5765 Mbps.
    • LAN Ports: The GT-BE19000 has a 10GbE LAN port, while the GT-BE98 features 2.5GbE LAN ports.
    • Wi-Fi Bands: The GT-BE98 supports quad-band Wi-Fi, while the GT-BE19000 is tri-band.

Both routers use the same Broadcom BCM4916 processor. For faster wireless speeds and newer technology, the GT-BE19000 might be the better choice. However, the GT-BE98’s quad-band Wi-Fi could be advantageous for certain setups.

The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 is also supported by the Gnuton fork of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware.

Are you using AiMesh in anyway or just a single ASUS GT-BE98 ?

I know from past posts Adaptive QoS with Wifi 7 was having issues, is this the same for Traditional QoS and Bandwidth limiter ?

Are you using AiMesh or just a single ASUS GT-BE98.

I can then speak with ASUS
