Confirmed.
Reverting back to build585 as https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2606692&r=57560437#r57560437 has gotten worse. Since updating to build586, symptoms begin immediately.
Once unit has finished powering on/rebooting, Used RAM is no longer at 175MB at first, it is now immediately at 250MB. The CPU1/CPU2 graphs max out with normal download use/without cause.
Worst though, WLAN file transfers no longer get a 50-60MB/s speed at first, it is now 12-13MB/s permanently.

November 11, 2018 at 5:08 pm #1418@nofixedaddress and @Cozak – Stock build585 had a DSL Driver update, this is included in beta build586, just need to see if one of you did a factory reset after latest Beta, just to eliminate all other factors?
But do agree, does not sound promising.

November 11, 2018 at 5:14 pm #1420‘As Always’, you are well trained ;) – so an issue it is and stock585 does not have this issue?
We both need to let ASUS know this, back to our testing days, all we need now is babis3g ;)

I’ve not yet tried the stock firmware 585. I’ve been away from home since Friday so just went straight to the latest beta.
I’ll flash the latest official firmware shortly and see what happens.

November 11, 2018 at 6:41 pm #1424November 11, 2018 at 7:07 pm #1425To confirm, problem is also present on 585 official firmware.
Copying a large file over Wi-Fi from my laptop to my server (on Ethernet) and the copy speed is 13MB/s.

That is interesting, as one person says build585 works well with file copy, I know it is a lot to ask, did you manage to do a factory reset after loading buid585 (stock)?

<!–more–>Remember there is a bug where AI can show as enabled in the UI when it’s not (following a reboot) . Suggest other user reflashes official firmware then toggles ai off and back on again then tries another copy.
Factory reset has never worked for me so I’m reluctant to do one without the above being confirmed first. It highly likely that ai was not working due to the aforementioned bug.

November 11, 2018 at 8:09 pm #1428Good idea, I think I will dig out my DSL-AC88U tomorrow and give it a go with both versions, BTW usually you can tell if AiProtection is working if memory usage is around 240MB (ish)
Thanks for you assistance and totally understand all is flashing/factory resetting is a real pain ;)
