November 24, 2018 at 10:40 pm #1620November 25, 2018 at 9:54 am #1621Thats with no Ai on
Usually with AiP Off, mem usage is 170-180, with AiP On, Mem usage is 250 (ish) so if you enable AiP, wait 10 mins and then disable again, hopefully mem usage should drop down to 170 (ish). and be Off (correctly)

November 25, 2018 at 10:08 am #1622Day 15, RAM Used: 282MB (62%)
I don’t have AI or any special features enabled. It’s puzzling to see why some have their RAM usage high, where others are steady.
Another question. Does anyone know if ASUS is fixing/investigating the group key rotation issue?
I recall those with android having issues, but fixed with android patches. I still have a Windows 10 PC that is unstable if group key is set at the default of 3600. I’ve set it to 86400 and it seems to have resolved the intermittent connectivity loss, but would prefer something more secure.

November 25, 2018 at 10:19 am #1623Your firmware version has the AiP bug (I believe) where even when off after a reboot, it still not fully Off, or visa versa (I forget which way works). but generally, with AiP Off and nothing else running in background, i.e external drives etc, RAM usage is around “280 (ish)
Yes, when I spoke with ASUS ages ago regarding the Group Key Rotation issues, it was something they where looking into, no idea of timescales for fix and interesting your Windows PC is also effected?

I think this slow memory leak maybe something else? I toggled AI on and memory usage went up to 354MB! Toggling it off, it went back down to 288Mb. Like a other forum member, I’m predicting the unit will reboot itself on day 30 (I’m on 63% used and seeing a 2% increase each day). I’ll keep everyone posted on this soap opera. Will it or won’t it…

November 25, 2018 at 8:55 pm #1627Slow memory leak should not be related to AiP, but as you say, keep us updated as this is good for us all to know ;)

November 25, 2018 at 10:39 pm #1628When it comes to SRA and Bitswap, is it better to have it enabled or disabled on FTTC?

November 25, 2018 at 10:44 pm #1629Well the inexorable rise continues. I’m up to 217mb today. Last time I posted it was 210mb. It’s not rising fast, but it’s been up for 8 days, and started off in 194 zone (I think). It’s not fast enough to be exciting! I’ll check back next week.

This may be a silly question…. Have you tried factory reset after updating firmware, without restoring previous settings?

November 26, 2018 at 12:15 am #1631November 26, 2018 at 1:10 am #1632Regarding the cpu spiking issue, I’m pretty sure this is Wi-Fi related.
I mentioned previously that I was going to get an orbi to replace the dsl-ac88u. I ended up keeping it and putting the orbi in ap mode with Wi-Fi of the router disabled.
Since then no more cpu spikes and can even use AI protection again without everything grinding to a halt. All other settings on my router remain as they were except for the disabled Wi-Fi.
Seems to point the finger at the Wi-Fi drivers as the source of the random cpu spikes.

Interesting, I will let ASUS know.

November 26, 2018 at 2:31 pm #1634@UK Sentinel, are you able to chase Asus on my feedback? Haven’t heard anything back from them.
I have had an email from ASUS, it just says they are looking into issue ;)
