April 23, 2020 at 7:12 pm #6670I think HG612 don’t work like that, at least not straight away. Give HG612 ip 192.168.1.2 where your asus should be 192.168.1.1, and plug in second cable from HG612 to lan into asus.

April 23, 2020 at 7:54 pm #6674I have set it up how my Draytek Vigor 130 was setup to access its gui via router.
In theory, DrayTeK was 192.168.2.1 and RT-AC86U was 192.168.50.1 so as long as you followed the details previously for DrayTek config , just subbing out DrayTeK ip and subnet for HG612 IP address (192.168.1.1) , it should work if set up correctly on the ASUS – I have achieved this in the past with success – long time ago(does not work for BT HG612 (3B) modem)I would avoid playing with HG612 for a couple of days, as we do not wish to cause any re-synchs etc. if happy with HG612 in a week or so, then we can set-up your configs to suit

Sorry, late to this, if it works currently, I would leave alone until we are happy with modem etc ? then configure later as we do not want any re-synchs while modem is settling in

Ok thanks. Will leave well alone.
I changed the HG612 IP to match the Draytek, so i did not have to change the router wan settings.

April 23, 2020 at 8:01 pm #6681Can you access HG612 UI via ASUS ?
Nope, only direct in HG612’s lan 2. I cannot telnet it via it’s lan 2 only via DSLstats program. Strange ?

April 24, 2020 at 11:44 am #6686Had a play with my HG612 3B today loaded with howling wolf’s (bcm96368MVWG_fs_kernel_HG612V100R001C01B030SP08_webgui) firmware for unlocking the BT HG612 modem and @Mrk26 is correct, I could not gain access to modem UI via Modem LAN Port 1, connected to RT-AC86U WAN Port – only via Modem LAN Port 2 with separate ethernet cable running from spare LAN port on ASUS router,

I had forgotten there was 2 x LAN ports for this model, as and when you want to gain access to HG612 – I am sure @Mrk26 good instructions should work – Ignore my previous guidance
