I think you can forget all of these commands, AFAIK they are working only on RT-AC68U platform.
Sold all of my Asus routers 2 years ago, so not up to date anymore, but changes became more an more restrictiv so not to suppose they will change their minds now or in future.

For the one person you found it may be true that a new driver is worse, but 1000 others where it is ok or better wont post in the forums

Obviously you are searching the wrong places.

All users (me included) see faster sync (link speed) with latest labor versions (83655 and 84071) on 7590 with DSL-drivers > .160

November 21, 2020 at 3:36 pm in reply to: ASUS – DSL-AC88U / DSL-AC3100 Firmwares (beta's) etc. Looks like a new Beta Release for the DSL-AC88U is available, this version has Telnet enabled and improved 2.4GHz wifi (I believe). For 7582 there is a new version 7.13-83377 LabPLUS too with fixes and patches (no new functionality).
But sorry not public available, updated directly by provider only (or you could ask ‘UK Sentinel’ if he got it somewhere).

yes, speed increase of 5 to 15Mb/s have been seen for different users and lines with latest DSL-driver …160 and seems to be stable for most of them.

most people see a significant DSL-speed approvement with this version – me too 15Mb/s on my 280Mb/s line.

You could use one DSL as Mesh Master router (set LAN1 as WAN to existing modem) instead of RT, then RT as Mesh-node with LAN (its WAN port) backhaul and 2nd DSL as Mesh-node over Wifi.

The WAN port is for telephony it wonβt work for a LAN connection.
Thats not correct, WAN port of RT-AC68U is an Ethernet-port, and DSL-AC68U got an DSL-port (for phone-line) there is no WAN port on it.
@Patrik Pabo: So you have to use “alternative” picture you posted.
AFAIK you have to set in menu which port shall act as WAN-port on your DSL-AC68U, in your case set it to LAN1 and use the port named LAN1.
