February 7, 2020 at 2:20 pm in reply to: Draytek Vigor2760 Any advice with extra settings for vigor 2670 used in bridge mode? #5942
I set bridge mode, no problem here, connecting etc, but looks like it dropping connection every 30s or so, maybe something wrong with it? 🤔<
I can see in game packets dropped and it show connection timeouts, never happened with eci…You need to login in order to vote
February 4, 2020 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Asus RT-AX88U / Pro – Firmware Updates Thread ============================ Router Model – Asus RT-AX88U Firmware Version – 3.0.0.4.384.7756 Firmware Release Date – 2019/11/25 ============================ Changelog – – Enhanced the Wi-Fi 6 performance with Apple® iPhone11, Samsung® S10. –... #5935I guess you talking about last beta build? I tried one of the alpha builds and my wifi go crazy, of course I done only dirty flash from 384.13 but apparently wifi driver was already updated on alpha builds and was recommended to do reset to factory defaults and start from scratch. To be honest I don’t want to mess (again) with all my devices in home to forget network on each and pair them again, so I back to my favourite 384.13 which is really stable and all working for me.
Trouble is that Merlin can’t do nothing about wifi driver as this is Asus mess and he have no control of that. All rest he fixed, but what is a point of that? I was going to try latest beta but after feedback, especially issues with wifi, I’m not fancy at the moment.

Not sure about smart hub 2, but I read about business smart hub, and guy used on plusnet, apparently just need to be reset to factory default, once powered type in details for your provider. Not sure if working on all uk providers.

Don’t see reason why shouldn’t. These are not limited to business users only. I’m suprised that bt equipment is still available (especially brand new) on ebay, maybe business customers are on different agreements? I read on other forum that last December bt changed they contracts that equipment is on lease to customer, once they don’t provide service anymore they request to return equipment, if you don’t, bt will charge you for it.

Did you have any issues with it? As far I remember you using v130 where I believe v2760 got better specs? The v2760 can be use in bridge mode as well.

I don’t mind challenge, but as you mentioned above HH6 got broadcom chipset which is no go for me. I definitely will stick with lantiq. I known vigor 2760 is quite old but is far better specs than my old eci, and it won’t cost me anything (dm200 will pay for it 😉).
With broadcom chipset I will get much more CRC errors where with lantiq chipset these are FEC errors which are corrected (on booth downstream and upstream) so never happened.

After few days of extensive exercise with dm200 he end up on ebay and is actually gone straight away (2h after been put on ebay). Couldn’t find vigor 165 even on website which had them in the past (don’t want to risk one annex b), thinking about vigor 2760 (non wifi version) as next patient 😝

Yes, the latest 1.0.0.61, unless I do some testing on openwrt. Switching between stock fw and openwrt is like 5min.
I was considering Vigor 165, even found one with annex A (Online shop), and I think V 165 got two lan ports so even less hassle to access stats or tune it up. If I decide for vigor 165 I don’t think I will bother with Vigor 166, unless someone will drive in to my cabinet (ECI) and BT decide to replace with Huawei.

Well I enabled telnet with http://192.168.1.1/debug.htm
Unfortunately adslctl info –stats not working just typed in telnet, I believe some some kind of access route is needed like in this example:
”
Open the telnet shell.
Issue the following commandscd /opt/lantiq/bin press enter
Downstream
“./dsl_cpe_pipe.sh g997lsg 1 1″ – copy and paste everything between the ” ” marks – press enterUpstream
“./dsl_cpe_pipe.sh g997lsg 0 1″ – copy and paste everything between the ” ” marks – press enterThe ATTNDR=XXXXX will be your speed in Bits divide X / 1024 / 1024 = Mbits
EG – 71797596 / 1024 / 1024 = 68.4Mbits”And this is as far I found. It looks like bit more is needed to get full stats like on Vigor not to mention to adjust snr….
I don’t think I will have that much time to play with. Ideally I just need modem with possibly recent lantiq chipset (slightly newer than on eci modem) and easy access to telnet with possibility to view stats and adjust snr ( I do -0.8 db on downstream on mine to get full sync speed). Poor Eci modem is still on duty but God knows for how long it will be able to serve me

Netgear dm200 its just one of my spare ones which I decide to play with until my another hobby call me in

Something is messed up with openwrt, download sync is pretty much the same like on eci modem but upstream only 4Mb? Will check with original vdsl fw, so far not much hope for this one.
@Uk Sentinel
Do you came across telnet commands fot dm200 original fw (thanks to your post in other thread I enabled telnet) , I was looking around but can’t fimd much…
If I can’t get this to work as should it will go back to cupboard.

That’s why I flash openwrt, because this modem will get new life. In standard fw in bridge mode there is barelyany any settings at all. In openwrt you still can access UI and telnet and change dsl settings. If you was considering dm200 with standard fw then yes you didn’t miss anything.

No stats on netgear modem, telnet usles as snr tweak not working, and also netgear fw is soooo slow that is unbelievable. Openwrt is actually nice and smooth on it.

I will flash openwrt again to dm200, and I will setup vlan switch, I will play with lan setup to see if I don’t loose access to UI, if not I let asus to do it. When I connect dm200 with original fw I can chose if vlan id should be done by modem or not, also is something like pass thought vlan id (in this case I believe router do this)
That will keep me busy for couple of days 😉

To be honest I’m not that busy at the moment, probably that is why I thinking about “this” stuff (decent router in place, just need slightly better modem😉) . Dm200 got faster cpu and is dual-core, not to mention got bigger memory. I already have latest Openwrt 19.07 on it, last two days tested several different configurations (even managed to recover original fw on netgear just in case openwrt won’t work) . My biggest issue was that when I set Vlan switch in modem to do “vlan101” necessary for connection in UK I already loose access to UI, then I figured out that vlan switch may not be necessary to set on modem as router can do vlan101 as well while negotiating connection. Then my latest issue was how to connect this modem with my configuration (where I still have access to UI) to keep access to UI through WAN port. I will test above and will see if that will work.
How vlan101 is done on your configuration does vigor do it or router?
Me like me, but you must be really busy running forum in every spare moment….
On the other side what we will do without great people like you. 😊
