the pfsense box is the heart of the setup since its the router dhcp server

and the stuff u can do is insane and u got add ons for extra security and extra stuff for the dns and u can set up vlans left right and senter :)

and its possible to run pfsence on a vmware/proxmox in the machine and then u can run pihole on same maschine and all the nics are 2.5 gb and apliance comes with 4 /6/8

the one i got is running a j4125 intel 4 core and im using DNS in pfsense

that is like throwing  🎲 mine was crap in that mode but in modem mode its awsome could be difrent firmware in 166 then 167 mine was using bleeding edge 64bit firmware

hi chris i just started using the draytek 167 and its super stable

but i dont think it got gfast but i think 165 have it my new system is a dream to work with

running 167 in modem mode conected to a pfsence appliance

to a zyxel switch but if u only got 3 hardwires including ap then u can skip a switch for wifi im using a unifi wifi6ap  best upgrade i ever made

topton seems being good make

so i payd 235dollar and like 35 dollar in transport thanks to fedex and iceland

hi mate’s

haven’t been on not musch havr been happening untill yesterday

the firewall/router/dns server/pfsense appliance arrived

i restarted the draytek into modem only mode ran pfsense on the box no issue at .

i will make a litle review how it was to set up and some links to some docu and videos that got me thrue the setup process

internet feels snappier now.

review coming later need it to run abit to see if there is some stability issues

ok but i cant be with out tv or my servers just did some settings changes to the dls ac88 and turn of wifi so all wiffi runs via the unifi thrue the switch

ok now every thing works great switched dns from google to cloud worked great same the other way and it works fast nslookup took hLF  sec same with other stuff

after rebooting both the switch and the router now nslookup is looking up 8.8.8.8
