No problem, as far as I recall, very early firmware’s had issue with ADSL etc, and some minor issues with VDSL, but that was a long time ago,
Yes, a shortened DSL cable will assist (for testing purposes) and hopefully the shorter cable and newer firmware will at least for DSL, be stable.

So all that have kindly helped test these beta firmware’s for the DSL-AC88U, thank you for you assistance, but seems ASUS have no need any more for testers.
Update: looks like some individuals have complained to ASUS that the public, have been asked to test beta firmware’s, ‘which is exactly what RMerlin does via his ASUSWRT-Merlin firmware beta releases’ as a result ASUS wish to re affirm, they never asked for assistance in (we are not asking users to try, as it’s beta version) testing beta firmware’s.
I have asked ASUS for clarity between ‘ASKED and ALLOWED‘
So alas looks like no more beta firmware’s will be published, at least via my Forums until ASUS clarify further their stance regarding beta firmware’s and public access.

I will be testing over weekend.
Beta540 was withdrawn as also had Ports issue, but I will endure for the sake of getting this sorted ;o
I am on VDSL (G.inp) and I think only other area to test maybe WebHistory, turn On or Off, as this was fixed in release 540 ?
Thanks for all you help ;)

@paulinventome – that is a little strange as the DSL-AC88U has many issues, but non are really DSL related, usually more wifi/dhcp and memory usage that runs out and causes router to crash and reboot.
Can you cut and paste a copy of your System Log > DSL Settings/Log page? and Administration > DSL Settings page, just so I can see what going on?
BTW – what firmware version was you on originally?

@gigios, do you mean you have tested Build546 already? or do you mean, this one has memory leak and/or this firmware has firewall issue also and maybe the alleged fix caused the memory loss?In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).

I have also asked ASUS for Build546 for the DSL-AC3100 to test.
A factory reset is advisable after loading new firmware and flashing firmware twice onto router does seem to be better .

That is promising, forum user @darkblak is also testing 527 and reporting no increases with RAM/Memory, this at least should provide a good basis for ASUS to produce new firmwares, and please feed this back to ASUS and I will nag them from my end also
I just checked my old notes from ASUS back in February, Yes ‘February!’ when they released this firmware and a potential fix was to enable and disable the firewall a few times and save, as this kicked firewall into action, but did not always work.
