Looks like the firmware downoad page is missing on the Asus website for the XT8 for a week or more now.
Is it just me, or same for everyone?

How intuitive is the Haier app ?

I was also pleasantly surprised with the warranty too. Took a chance mainly because of this. I think Haier own Candy and Hoover too?
The app is quite easy to use and intuitive. I still use the onboard screen/knob. Too old school to move away from that.
The app was quite easy to set up and has a lot of useful settings. Not sure I will use it much, but handy that I can use it should I want to.

10-year parts guarantee:
Haier offers 10-year Parts guarantee for all home appliances from the date of purchase.
During the first five years Haier approved engineers will replace all defective parts free of charge, except for parts subject to fair wear and tear, such as interior lamps.
In years 6-10 replacement parts will be supplied free only if fitted in the UK or the Republic of Ireland by Haier and the appropriate labour charges paid (Haier Fixed Price Repairs Out of 60 Month guarantee period).
The guarantee does not cover accidental damage, loss or damage arising from the breakdown of the product.

So far, cannot fault it and customer service was suprisingly good.
The installer messed up the installation and did not connect the water correctly, nearly flooded my kitchen. Called my relative who fixed that quite easily.
First impressions – It is very quiet compared to my old one. All I hear is a whooshing noise as it spins (not very technical analysis, I know
)Now just waiting for my £50 cashback.

Thanks, that worked. These parameters were not something I had set up.

As gnuton supports the xt8, hopefully he can integrate this feature.

So ASUS have got back to me (below) regarding the ASUS XT8 and Time Scheduling for Guest Wifi and does seem as though only an option supported in there range of ‘PRO’ routers.
i.e. (at a guess)
- RT-AX86U Pro, RT-AX88U Pro
- GT-AX11000 Pro, GT-AXE16000, GT-AX6000
- ZenWiFi_Pro_ET12, ZenWiFi_Pro_XT12
- ExpertWiFi Series
——-
This feature is supported in Guest Network Pro / Self-defined Network with 3.0.0.6 firmware.
However, not plan to release 3.0.0.6 firmware for XT8.

Any ideas if Merlin can port this feature to the XT8?

I have 2 SSID on the 5GHz-1 network. One of which is the Guest network and the other is normal SSID.
Are you saying I can Enable wireless scheduler on the Guest network SSID on 5GHz-1 only and leave the other 5GHz-1 SSID to be active always?
If so, that would be amazing for my use case.
Essentially, my question is can you pick a specific SSID to Enable wireless scheduler?

ASUS routers (most models) do support what is called ‘Wireless scheduler’ -(time scheduling) which can be found under Wireless > Professional.
‘If you want to switch the WiFi signal at a specific time, like turn off 2.4G and 5G WiFi before bed time and turn WiFi back on in the morning, you can use the Wireless scheduler function in ASUS router to set the time when WiFi is turned on or off’.

I think this method put’s the whole Band (ie 5GHz-1 band) in a ‘Time Schedule’. Is there a way to create a new SSID on 5GHz-1 band and put that SSID on ‘Time Schedule’? Maybe a niche case, but would be interesting.

I will have a check. Thanks
Is it possible on the Guest network? I want to have a seperate 5GHz-1 network where I can use Time Schedule for that isolated network.

Similar to Parental Control ‘Time Scheduling’, is there a way to put a wireless network on ‘Time Scheduling’ other than to manually turn the network off?
