In the end, Hyperoptic matched the offer I got from Community Fibre. I was offered £23 per month for 1Gb Fibre including landline. Decided to stay with Hyperoptic as they do not have mid contract RPI price rises like Community Fibre.

After 3+ years with Hyperoptic, I have reluctantly decided to move to Community Fibre.
My current Hyperoptc package is £25 per month for 1Gb Fibre Broadband & Phone with unlimited UK landline calls.
This will increase to £31 per month on renewal of the same package. Going down to 500mb will apparently be more expensive as that 1Gb renewal was a special offer for me.
Community Fibre have said they will charge £35 per month for 1Gb Fibre Broadband & Phone with unlimited UK landline and mobile calls. They will offer free broadband for the first 12 months (1Gb Fibre is £25 per month).
Essentially I will pay £14.95 for installation. First year £10 per month, second year £35 per month. Seems a really good deal. Not sure if anyone else has used Community Fibre. My bother and my sister both have the 500mb Community Fibre package which they said is great
Installation is 02/10/2023, lets see how it goes.
Apparently Community Fibre will port over my existing Hyperoptic landline number – not sure how true this is as I have only ever ported between copper telephone lines.

Decided not to go with Virgin media as did not fancy them digging up my drive and access road. so will keep with the existing underground DSL cables until Full Fibre reaches my area in 2025.

I am currently with Hyperoptic (1Gb package) and also have the option of Community Fibre.
With BT the fastest option available is ‘Fibre 1’ – 42-50Mb. How can I find out when BT will bring Full Fibre where I am?

I was referring to the unii-4 channels. I think I read somewhere the EU had approved these, not sure where I read it though.

@UKSentinel, just came back from a months holiday abroad. Did you hear anything from Asus on the logs I sent them? I have had no reply from them directly.
Also, any ideas if Asus have any plans to add the additional channels like they did to the US XT8 models?

@UKSentinel, are you with Octopus? I am currently with Ovo Energy and looking to move back to Octopus as I got my £50 bill credit last week for moving to Ovo from Octopus few months ago. Do Octopus still do the £50 referral also? If so, are you able to send me a referral?

I received you logs, thanks and does look like a mem type issue or very high CPU usage that caused a service not to work correctly.
If OK with yourself, can I send the logs to ASUS so they can add it to their list

Please send to Asus, I will also send logs and mention you?

Maybe worth looking in log also incase there are entries like ‘failed to write’ or ‘No space left on device’ which may give a clue.

Nothing that mentions this. Are you ok if I email or PM the logs to you to see if you can see anything?

No mention of radar in the logs. I am more than happy with 50+days uptime on 160MHz mesh connection.

After around 57 days devices were able to connect wirelessly to the mesh network but no web pages were loading ‘connected-no internet’. Could not even log into the router UI to check stats.
Restarted the main node and everything was fine again. Anything I should look out for in the logs? It happened between 11am-12.30pm.

I am no expert, just like tinkering around and updating my XT8’s
. I am not very upto speed on these logs. Do you live in the UK, the reason I ask is that you seem to have additional channels on the 5GHz-2 that I think are only available in the US model.Have you tried checking your PHY rate? (see attachment). All mine have a PHY rate above 2,000Mbps.
My XT8’s were previously dropping to 2.4GHz due to placement of one of my XT8 next to a fridge which was most probably causing interference. Also due to a damaged extenstion cord.
Can you check on the android/ios app check the RSSI. I made sure all my XT8’s have RSSI below 65 dBm. This also stabilised my mesh, so much so that I am now on 36 days 18 hour(s) 25 minute(s) 31 seconds on 160MHz – Channel 100 wothout a single hiccup that I have noticed. This is on FW 23285.

Are Octopus Energy still giving £50 ‘refer a friend’?
I was with Octopus Energy before joining OVO Energy as they offered £50 bill credit for new customers (no longer available now).

Judging by how quiet this thread has been lately, I guess 3.0.0.4.388.23285 has been working well for most folks. I’ve had my main desktop connected the the MikroTik for the past couple of months, so I haven’t been paying as much attention to the XT8 network, but I logged in this morning and the up-time is 31+ days, with a system log dating back to June 2nd! CPU and memory look good as well. Seems like the most stable fw in quite some time.
My uptime has been 20+ days now. I think the stability/instability is due to individual setup, but for me and my setup the latest FW 23285 has been stable.
I mostly use it for parental control – time scheduling. With the full 16 devices in the list I have 166MB ram free after 20+ days. I cannot complain at all.
