August 12, 2019 at 5:20 pm in reply to: AVM FRITZ!Box 3490 – Official Thread Today AVM have released the latest firmware for the beloved Fritz!Box 3490 ( FRITZ!OS 7.12) The update file “FRITZ.Box_3490.xx.xx.image” on http://ftp.avm.de contains the latest FRITZ!OS (Firmware) for the FRITZ!Box 3490. Attention:... #3801
Contact them as soon as it happens again!
They have good support and will ask you to mail them support data from your box and have a look whats going on.
You can get them out of the box, left down “Contents”, then left down “Fritz!Box Support” and choose “Generate Support Data”.
I still dont have IPv6 so I cannot tell anything about it but should come this year at my home.
Right now as first step they started IPv6 support for mobiles.
PS: There are reported many problems with IPv6 on Asus routers too ending with no connection, maybe ISPs still not uptodate with their settings or failure on both sides.

correct, its asking permanent for new leases, not good.
By default it is set to 86400s (=24h), for special needs you can go down to 3600s (=1h) and you should better not go below this.

Hope with you that it will last longer now till noise comes back again ;-)

@UK sentinel: Just curious, why did you recommend 7580 instead of 7590 which outperforms first (vplus/35b, analog phone) and is newer and even cheaper.
Found new internat. 7590 version A/CH on amazon for €188: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B073RKV9YT?linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&smid=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&creativeASIN=B073RKV9YT&tag=geizhals1-21&ascsubtag=mKdIKmT2Pf8Vv4G3cWzZYQ
On Asus side RT-AC86U may be a good choice (performance/price), but I had a lot of problems with mine till I sold them all for good.

better would be to use LAN backhaul.
If not possible the channels must be the same on master and node, otherwise it cannot connect over WiFi. But this should be done from node itself, nothing you could do.
If it is shown paired in Aimesh then it will be on same channel.
Maybe your master router has 2x 5G bands in use and child takes one for Aimesh.
Does your DSL-AC68U even support ch. 149+ which you can see in standard router mode?

You can directly SSH to router in Windows using PowerShell.
Just open powershell and type: SSH routeruser@routerIP
Then password and youre done …
But thanks now I know how to run Linux on my WinPC without dual boot. Tried it some times ago but didnt know how to go on with MS-store.

July 6, 2019 at 6:36 pm in reply to: DSL-N14U GPL Codes cannot be compiled Hello there. I have been trying to compile the GPL code on the Asus site to the DSL-N14U modem for months. Download Link For Latest GPL code: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/wireless/DSL-N14U/GPL_DSL-N14U_1123617.zip The code... #3543Ask GNUton from snb-forum, he wrote there that he wants to build Merlin-fork on those older DSL-models: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-dsl-n16-looking-for-testers.57423/

I wouldnt buy a washing machine (and similar or in kitchen) from Asian production.
So I stay with my Miele and be happy for >>10 years.
Sure there are others too from EU with good quality, yes more pricey, but less hassle.
Remove belt, then you should or may be able to localize where it is coming from turning by hand.

my daughter who’d been watching Youtube in her room was fine
youtube may have lost connection too, but short enough as they use some buffer.

I think here that all is explained very well, interleave, depth, delay: https://kitz.co.uk/adsl/interleaving.htm
You have to know that delay is the result of interleave size (e.g. “D”), the larger the size of the blocks the longer the delay to interlace them.

Does the isp apply this then? never thought that mattered thought if it said fast path the connection was ok
I think so but dont know.

interleave delay is the depth how long pakets are stretched and mixed with other pakets.
That makes it slower as answer will be delayed, but correction can be done more often as one paket has less wrong bits.
On bad lines with many errors it may be better to have longer delay, the better the shorter and in best case NO interleave at all and switched to fast path.
Here is a better explanation from a native English ;-)

For me hard to imagine a SNR=1 could even sync, I would check modem and line.
