April 20, 2020 at 8:43 pm in reply to: Draytek Vigor2760 Any advice with extra settings for vigor 2670 used in bridge mode? #6585
I see something strange happening on my line. Not sure if this is normal as until last year I never looked on vdsl stats. From approx two weeks when temperatures get higher outside I notice that between 9AM and 9PM my attienable speed dropping about 2Mb on downstream only. If my modem sync at 77Mb it will stay like that even than attienable speed drop to 75Mb and this drop don’t cause rebot. Is it possible that warm temperatures cause drop like this? 🤔

Forgot to add that this zyxel is with pre-build vdsl filter which can improve connection on long/noisy lines. Also you can view stats via gui or telnet. Used on ebay shouldn’t be to expensive.

The spare one which I got for DLM bad days is recommended zyxel VMG1312-B10A.

@Bully – I will drop out of this conversation for a while as @Mrk26 and I must be driving you mad with our different advice. Hope all goes well as I have a Sunday roast to prepare

I think I will drop faster as a part of trying on different modem, I run out of sensible ideas.
Maybe one more question, how far you are from cabinet on the street?

Yes, these are filtered, so basically shouldn’t cause issues….
And actually you socket is later edition so shouldn’t be issues with it…

Do you have anything connected to back of faceplate?
Also how heavy you use internet now. It’s really strange that bitswap didn’t turn on on downstream.
@Uk Sentinel
Aaaaa Sunday roast 🤤
In generally if bits don’t swap then “bitswap” is not activated.
Couple of speed test or heavy usage should help to turn them on “naturally” (as per my experience).

Within 2h max 3h should be on. I realised that telnet adjustment on vigor may cause issues.

Don’t turn on bitswap by telnet. Wait, they will turn on automatically.

Alas @Bully has had issues with his line (downstream) for as long as I can remember. YES FEC are still way to high, but modem has been on for five days without resynch I believe, which is also a little worrying (not good) @bully – has modem been left alone for five days ? If so reboot it from UI and post stats after a day
That is why I suggested to look into internal wiring, there is no point to call to ISP and report fault. If problem is with internal wiring he may end up paying engineer call out, where he could sort this.
