Is there a way to tell if G.INP is active on my line? I hear BT have rolled out testing on ECI cabinets.
ReTxEnable : 0 0 (means no G.inp) but is being trialled on some ECI cabs

April 19, 2020 at 8:43 am #6514Let’s make it clear, if you have just under 3 milions FEC errors within 15 minutes, you have no chance for positive move from DLM side, I may be wrong but in this industry I didn’t see many miracles.
Edit,
Even that you will cap downstream to reduce amount of errors to get fastpath, after you remove cap once (if at all) on fastpath you will be interleaved next day, I had exactly same situation before.
Edit 2
Just for reference, found old screenshot, I had about 7.5 milions FEC errors within 5 days and there was no chance at the time for fastpath on downstream, compared to yours is nothing.

April 19, 2020 at 9:33 am #6518Alas @Bully has had issues with his line (downstream) for as long as I can remember.
YES FEC are still way to high, but modem has been on for five days without resynch I believe, which is also a little worrying (not good)
@bully – has modem been left alone for five days ? If so reboot it from UI and post stats after a dayIn a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).

April 19, 2020 at 9:43 am #6523Did you consider to cap downstream a little bit to help removing branding, at least +1 snr?

That is why I suggested to look into internal wiring, there is no point to call to ISP and report fault. If problem is with internal wiring he may end up paying engineer call out, where he could sort this.

April 19, 2020 at 9:57 am #6525Understood and will not do any harm, but I feel that @bully original CRC problems have now changed to a FEC problem (ish) which is an improvement but indicates an underlying problem which maybe wiring (Master Socket to Modem), DSL line, REIN or SHINE etc.
CRC errors occur during transmission of a DSL packet and are not recoverable at the receiving end, so the packet is dropped. FEC errors refer to Forward Error Correction which are packets that had errors during transmission, but the packet was repairable at the receiving end, so the packet was not dropped

April 19, 2020 at 10:08 am #6526April 19, 2020 at 10:18 am #6528Agree to the definition of FEC errors, but by looking on @bully stats his modem correcting 186329 FEC errors per minute, don’t you think that is a bit too much. ?
I do which indicates an underlying problem hopefully
Update: maybe worth @Bully performing a BT quiet line test to see if there is any obvious noise on the line

April 19, 2020 at 1:52 pm #6531Turned off modem and checked BT socket wiring all looks good, turned back on at approx 10am.
The socket was supplied and fitted by a BT engineer. I cant seem to add pics ?
