Hopefully FEC Graph will give us a better idea, alas I cannot recall if @Bully has produced one recently or is able to ?
Yes, if cap is removed, Interleaving could well return if noise on line is still happening, he has a low synch already and any further reduction in synch is not ideal.

May 5, 2020 at 8:48 pm #7002It’s all depend what he need, sometimes you need to sacrifice few Mb for lower latency. For example he sync with 40Mb now as his line didn’t improve any further. So first cap let’s say at 35Mb if that improve his line stability, his max speed should go higher and he should get fastpath (not straight away of course). If his full speed on fastpath will be close to 50Mb and he will keep cap at 45Mb he will still benefit, even he will have to keep cap at 40Mb he still benefit with lower latency, but that just example and guess.?.

May 6, 2020 at 6:38 am #7004Indeed, I still think we should try disabling FastPath – “in the name of science” – but will be interesting if @Bully can produce the FEC graph ?
@Bully – can you run the following CMD to see if SRA is On or Off (in use) ?‘xdslcmd profile –show’

Yes, FEC graph will be helpful, not sure if @Bully can produce one for full day, but we got long weekend this week so who knows 😉

May 6, 2020 at 8:02 am #7008I use vigor 2760 at the moment, therefore not sure how to check if SRA is enabled and how to enable/disable. However when I used zyxel SRA was always on unless I apply cap. After I applied cap dsl connection was rebooted and SRA was disabled until I rebooted modem manually. Aaand this is a very good point because I realised in the past that with SRA off I get fastpath pretty quick when line was capped.
@Uk Sentinel
Do you know how to disable SRA on Vigor?

May 6, 2020 at 8:47 am #7010SRA on my Fritz!Box is currently Off and I tend to use it as a guide as to whether my line is noisy etc, will check CMD’s later and update this post

May 6, 2020 at 8:48 am #7011Right, found something, but not sure if it’s enabled/disabled, looks like is controlled automatically?
DrayTek> vdsl optn sra
sra [US] = 0, [DS] = 0.
[0: default(=3), 1: MANUAL, 2: AT_INIT, 3: DYNAMIC, 4: DYNAMIC_SOS]
SRA mode for up stream is 3
SRA mode for down stream is 3Need to dig out dipper to find out how to disable…

May 6, 2020 at 10:52 am #7012@Mrk26 – Also try these:
to see SRA settings – ‘vdsl optn default’ (screen dump for us please)
To disable SRA – ‘vdsl optn sra bi 0 off’ (Edit: vdsl optn sra bi 2 off)
Note: SRA is controlled by DSLAM/Cab, so turning this off could result in more errors etc?
These are CMD’s for DrayTeK 130, so will be interesting if works for your 2760
Edit: use this to save cfg before reboot “vdsl savecfg ”

May 6, 2020 at 10:58 am #7015Will play with it some time in this week, need stable connection till Thursday as working from home.
Also according to above output shouldn’t be ” vdsl optn sra bi 2 off ”

Or will it change to “2 Off” once command is executed ?

May 6, 2020 at 11:11 am #7019Looks like your SRA and Bitswap is On already for yourself ;-)
I chose 0 as the CMD after disables SRA (so default should then change to Off) but 2 should be Ok, (Who knows really)

May 6, 2020 at 11:20 am #7020Yes, SRA is On, but I believe for better effect (from past experience) should be Off.
I capped my line last Saturday and till today no changes, and that’s probably why…
Apparently SRA is not used on 99% of cabinets, and is recommended to have this future disabled, especially on stable lines? Confused

May 6, 2020 at 11:36 am #7022A while back BT tested SRA for VDSL and I thought that test went live (aka, they use it now, when needed)
Yes for stable lines it is not needed and can be disabled, it will be interesting to see if @Bully has SRA in usage also ?

Not sure if this will working like that on mine
DrayTek> vdsl optn sra bi 0 off
sra [US] = 0, [DS] = 0.
[0: default(=3), 1: MANUAL, 2: AT_INIT, 3: DYNAMIC, 4: DYNAMIC_SOS]
SRA mode for up stream is 3
SRA mode for down stream is 3
