Did the ASUS ROG not live up to expectations or did you just get bored ;)
You have summed me up in one sentence. I got bored as I like tinkering with my PC. The ASUS ROG pre-built had a proprietary motherboard. Not much upgrade path with Zen 3. With LGA 1700 Raptor lake will be supported apparently plus it has DDR5 and PCIe 5.0.

I sold the Asus ROG strix 5800X PC for a small profit and bought a custom built PC from box.co.uk:
Specs:
Case: Phantek P500a
Processor: i7 12700k
Mboard: MSI Z690 Tomahawk DDR5
Ram: 32GB Kingston Fury 5600MHz
Cooler: Corsair H150i Elite Capellix
PSU: 850W Seasonic Focus GX
GPU: Kept my existing RTX 2070
Paid less than what I sold the AMD system for.
Only problem with box.co.uk is that they did not send any of the parts/accessories that were not used. Looks like it got lost somehow.

I have updated all 4 XT8 to this now and will see how it goes. The first bit of nuisance is that all nodes had to be added using ethernet cable. Also, the LED lights seem to turn back on with changes to settings. Toggling on and off turns it off again. Under Network, it doesn’t show the PHY rate.

Did you ever see Merlin fw for models GNUton is supporting?
To be honest, I have never owned a device that was supported by either.

@Incision Have you tried the beta 46980 at all? If all fails, send feedback to Asus with logs. It took them a while to fix my issue, but sorted in the end.
@UKSentinel, I have an archive of the XT8 firmware’s on my hard drive. I am happy to share with you if you want.

So decided to purchase the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Onyx (2022) as my Son already has the SteelSeries Mechanical Keyboard etc. Just ordered via Amazon, the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless Onyx (2022) which is now just £59.99 as they have reduced the price by £30 Love a bargain I do

Good choice, there are lots of positive reviews. With keyboard and mouse it is always what is personally comfortable for you.
I am using G915 wireless keyboard which I manage to snap up for around £110. Gave my rechargeable mouse away and now using a battery powered wireless mouse.

Were you on 46061? If so, did you experience any issues at all? For me both 46061 and this beta 46980 are very stable.

As this is now an official beta, all features are enabled like parental control. This is why I am continuing to use it. It is really good for me, there are many posts stating issues with IoT are mostly resolved on this beta. I cannot comment as I do not have any IoT connected to it.

The beta 46980 has been rock solid for me the whole week even with multiple Teams calls. Hopefully it stays like this.

My son uses Game Pass and the Xbox cloud gaming every day, this is on PC and the Xbox Series X. He hasn’t complained about any issues with gaming at all. We used Cloudflare IPv6 without any issues and yesterday changed to Google IPv6 for testing purposes. Teams was fine for me today with Google dns.

Always pros and cons to both. I am now so used to wireless and the convenience and will never go back to wired.
Logitech G703 is really good for me, but it all depends how it feels in your own hands. It is very compact in the hand for me as well.

I had this mouse for a while when I used to game more regularly:
I think for games like CS:GO, go wired. I only use wireless so that I can use in bed.
