This is what it says on FW prior to 46061, Any ideas what it could be:
I will drop them a message to see what is going on

I also messaged the contact who helped with providing beta FW for testing but I no longer get any reply. If it is a hardware change to fix known issues (rev 2) then that will be very suspicious. It could also be due to the shortage they are using different chip manufacturer.

It now looks like FW 42095 has been removed from the ASUS servers.
There also seems to be a chipset or design change on the XT8 on routers with production year 2022?
This is what it says on FW prior to 46061, Any ideas what it could be:
Version 3.0.0.4.386.45934
2021/11/03 55.78 MBytes
ASUS ZenWifi_XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.45934If your router’s production year is 2022 or above, DO NOT downgrade to this versionPlease check the back label for the production year.

may turn the reboot off soon and see how things go.
Would be a good test to see if you have the same issues as @dodgydrains ?
Done now, so I can monitor tomorrow to see what happens.
It will be good to see it running it for a week like this gives you same problem as I had. It was after 6 days that I got the problem.
Now 3 days 21 hours uptime since that problem. Let’s see how it goes for me as well.

I previously had similar problems with devices connecting and then disconnecting on 5GHz. This was when I first bought the XT8’s.
For me the issue seemed to be ‘Authentication Method’.
Initially it was ‘WPA2-Personal’ and ‘Control Channel’ – Auto
I changed it to ‘WPA/WPA2-Personal’ and ‘Control Channel’ – 36
I have never had this problem since. I now always set ‘WPA/WPA2-Personal’ and ‘Control Channel’ – 36.

@Dave, I always use this method to factory reset if it helps:

A bug, definitely
,Was both 2.4GHz and 5GHz effected ? Is Guest WiFi enabled by any chance ?I do not have Guest WiFi enabled. All devices connected to the 3 nodes lost connection but not sure if the main XT8 unit connected to the Hyperoptic modem/router was still working. Could it be the backhaul went down? Hope ASUS find the cause from the logs I sent.

After a few of these ‘error’:

And it carried on with similar logs
Not sure if it means anything

The actual Hyperoptic modem/router did not lose connection as my TV is connected to it via ethernet. That was still working. Nothing was connecting to the XT8’s.

Just had all 3 nodes lose connection. They are all connected via wireless backhaul. Sent feedback to ASUS via UI.

Good to hear that. Do you think it’s the factory reset that made the difference? Also I’m only running in AP mode, my router doesn’t have a bridge mode unfortunately.
I cannot say as I always factory reset after updating. I also change nothing on my ISP mode/router other than to turn off the Wi-FI. The 4 x XT8’s provide WI-FI throughout my flat.

I will be sticking with this latest firmware 46061. Thumbs up from me after a whole week
.Thanks ASUS, please do not ruin it again with subsequent updates.

No screams heard yet, so I think that’s a positive sign!
Excellent news
, people in other forums say they experienced different problems. But they did not factory reset and are reluctant to do so. I always factory reset after updating just to rule out as much as possible. You need to login in order to vote
This IS more promising! I might wait a little longer to make sure, but perhaps I can take the plunge later.
Take the plunge over the weekend @dodgydrains judgement is usually good and I am sure by Friday we will know for sure just how stable this new firmware release is

I will leave it up to you to decide. Just had a morning where I experienced micro-stutters in 3 calls. Cannot put it down to other side as it was with different people. I’ll stick with it for now as Teams connection doesn’t actually drop fully, just hangs and picks back up within 2/3 seconds. Really annoying, but still better than previous FW after 42095.
