October 29, 2021 at 12:23 pm in reply to: Windows 11 Beta’s Releases Windows 11 Build 22000.71 (KB5004252) was released on Friday https://www.windowslatest.com/2021/07/15/windows-11-build-22000-71-kb5004252-comes-with-minor-new-features/ In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard). #15965
Why so complicated?
All you need to do is adding a registry value and you can make an inplace upgrade on any machine.
Copy this into a new text file, rename extension from .txt to .reg and let it run (double click).
Afterwards just run setup.exe from downloaded Win11 iso (much faster) or find it as optional update:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
“AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU”=dword:00000001Older variant:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHC]
“UpgradeEligibility”=dword:00000001[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\LabConfig]
“BypassTPMCheck”=dword:00000001
“BypassSecureBootCheck”=dword:00000001
“BypassRAMCheck”=dword:00000001
“BypassStorageCheck”=dword:00000001

And you could go back to Win10 for 10 days in system->restore.
It is not officially supported right now, they write still on testing despite HW is fully supported I5-8xxx or compatible due to MS test tool.
But no problems so far, only had to activate TPM-2.0 in Bios/UEFI before. You need to login in order to vote

And so running updates every 2 weeks to see it going on.I found this bug too in June, but thought it will be solved with release.
So asked Eizo too for ColorNavigator update to run with Win11, they told me will come with release, but now you will find there not possible due to Win11 bug.You can find this in different forums and on Eizo page too, no reaction from MS at all, but fixed for some testers in next release.
Some even needed to live with dev till it gets beta and release, because they need it and cant go back to Win10 now anymore. You need to login in order to vote

But colour management is still broken, icc profile cant be read an verified, so many programs won’t for color calibration and profiling wont work.
Working with wide gamut monitors not really possible with right colors.
This is a known bug since June, but still not added in their recent bug-list.They just ignore it, to get a smaller list.
You’ll have to wait till 22H1 or 22H2 (who knows as they release only 1 update a year in future), there it is solved in dev-builds 22449.You need to login in order to vote
It is open source, you can trust Merlin versions much more than Asus themselves.

Or wait for WiFi 6e equipment, which uses a free 6GHz band @160MHz bandwith for backhaul.

FAQ from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/get-windows-11
The free upgrade offer does not have a specific end date for eligible systems. However, Microsoft reserves the right to eventually end support for the free offer. This end date will be no sooner than October 5, 2022.Thats the reason I have at least a partition with W11 on my PC so I could change at any time.
Use an old HDD for a W11 installation, so you are able to use it anytime in future to go on with it.You need to login in order to vote

They could stop updates on unsupported devices and with W10 you will get updates at least till end of 2025.

still find it fishy that the stable firmware 3.0.0.4.386.42095 is about 72.5 mbytes and the newly released 3.0.0.4.386.45898 is 55.65 mbytes.
Firmware size doesnt tell much or even nothing about whats inside and its quality.

But Merlin featured by Gnuton is much more powerfull in my opinion and therefore prefered to take AX89.

All the laptops I had opened in the past had it soldered on a small print or directly on motherboard (what I can remember) and needed resoldering only.
For me it’s unusual that even in your case as standalone plug it could go to fail. You need to login in order to vote
