There are some details in the weekly MSE email here Latest weekly email: BILLBUSTER special
The tariff is E.on Next EXCLUSIVE Fixed 16m V1 you can either get it directly from Eon or go via the MSE energy comparison thing for a bit of cashback too. Prices will very a bit by area but should be close to that wherever you are.
I would stay on tracker myself and ride out the highs which are always a risk with the tariff. But I really don’t like them continually adding on so much extra profit margin into the mix, makes times like these when the actual wholesale cost is very high even more expensive with the extra margin. They won’t even explain when asked what the extra costs are for

Agile only ever seems worth it if you can regularly load shift or if you’re able to store with a battery and use during peak times.
if you check the octopus compare app you can pull in your usage and compare to all the tariffs and see what would have been cheaper during any given period. Agile always comes out more expensive for my usage.

I’ve been on the octopus tracker (dec2023) and got the same email to move over to the dec2024.
It is no longer the great deal it once was, they’ve whacked on huge extra profit margin. They’ve increased the standing charge up to about the price cap standing charge, even though it’s not a price cap tariff.
They’ve also increased both parts of the tracker unit formula, so it is now 1.2x wholesale unit cost (up from 1.1something) + about 12p additional margin. The additional margin bit is now almost double from when tracker first came out. I suspect tracker was so popular that Octopus are now using it to massively squeeze profit out of those customers, it’s no longer the must-have tariff it was.
I see in the MSE email there is a new eon tariff that looks somewhat tempting, elec 21.18p/kwh gas 6.295p fixed for 16 months. Tempted by that myself as I don’t like what Octopus are doing now.

Was really quick to set up the main network as well as the iot network which I moved all my devices like nest thermostat over to.
The only incompatibility I found so far is with wifi7 enabled on the main ssid, Sonos devices refuse to connect. That’s a Sonos issue though as everything else connects fine regardless how old it is, so hopefully they put out an update for it.
I managed to bag an mis-price on the 3 node pack but only need 2 nodes for full strength WiFi around the whole house, could have gotten away with one node my house weren’t so awkwardly shaped. But it means I have one unused node I’m trying to get rid of now, bring the overall cost down a bit

Fingers crossed they put out updates faster than the glacial pace of the ax82 updates I upgraded from.

thanks for the update, shame that Asus are so slow in updating things.
Fibre will be available here soon and I am considering upgrading my ax82u to the asus bt8, but given the really poor firmware support from them i’ve seen with the ax82u i’m hesitant to buy more asus network products.

And seeing it’s been almost a year since the last one, disappointing to see it’s still on 3.0.0.4 and they haven’t looked to update it to the current major version of asuswrt.
Have updated anyway for now but hopefully they have more in the works?

One of the main reasons I buy Apple devices is their excessively long support. Gives them a real long lifetime when I pass them onto family etc

it really is bad though how infrequently they patch these dsl devices, especially given they are the direct gateway to the internet. AND they always seem to exclude off the press release for vulnerabilities (not the first time it’s happened) . Doesn’t really give you a lot of confidence in buying their products-

please pass on they need to pull their fingers out keeping their dsl devices up to date, they practically abandon them versus their rt- counterparts :/-

Thanks I think I may opt for the xds6 as it looks a little more unobtrusive as long as there aren’t any incompatibilities.
to the zenwifi devices use the same asuswrt OS?
