Awesome thanks it really is bad though how infrequently they patch these dsl devices, especially given they are the direct gateway to the internet. AND they always seem to exclude off the press release for vulnerabilities (not the first time it’s happened) . Doesn’t really give you a lot of confidence in buying their products

Thanks  please pass on they need to pull their fingers out keeping their dsl devices up to date, they practically abandon them versus their rt- counterparts :/

Thanks I think I may opt for the xds6 as it looks a little more unobtrusive as long as there aren’t any incompatibilities.

to the zenwifi devices use the same asuswrt OS?

Are you in the southern region?  if not if you check the menu at the top for tracker you can select the other regions which may account for the slight difference in prices.  I’m in that region and the prices to match exactly the ones in the app for me

Do you mean like historical unit prices for the tracker? This is the one I normally check  https://mysmartenergy.uk/Tracker/Southern-England

 

there’s also a helpful 3rd party app octopus compare it can pull your usage data via the octopus api and it will compare your exact hourly usage against the other tariffs and tell you if you’d spent more or less and during which times of day it was more or less expensive (if comparing tariffs that change hourly).

 

The octopus tracker is the best one for me by a long shot, I’ve saved so much this year and it’s always been cheaper than the price cap/fix.  I don’t mind temporarily paying higher prices at times during the winter if the wholesale goes up as <!–more–>long as I benefit straight away from it going back down again. On the whole fixed tariffs will usually cost more as they have to bake hedging into the tariff cost too which they don’t have to do with tracker.

Useful info good to know this actually works, as they didn’t update the UI to say it worked with iphone yet.  I can see this coming in handy at some point.

Under the WEEE regulations anywhere that sells electronics must accept them in for recycling whether you are buying anything from there or not.

It’s something you may have to push for, sales grunts are rarely trained in WEEE and some cheeky places try and charge a fee. but they have to take them in order to be able to sell electronics.

 

I normally just dump anything to recycle at Currys and don’t normally have any hassle.

The esim option is an absolute gem whilst travelling.  I just install a cheap local esim via an app such as airalo which I enable for data whilst roaming and saves an absolute boatload versus roaming, given the much reduced amount of places with inclusive roaming since leaving the EU.

 

such an easy way to save cash and so simple to install/delete esims whilst still keeping your main number available in addition.

Bear in mind that the tracker prices change daily not monthly, and do seem to vary quite a bit.  It’s still been consistently below the price cap figures every day though, so a large saving overall.

Only that they’d been involved in the VW one which did agree a settlement.  No mention of timescales for any of the others.  As its no win no fee I just put my old vehicles in and hopefully one day in the future maybe some pennies might come my way from it, who knows.

Wow this would be amazing if it works like uBlock origin at the router level (and comes to the dsl-ax82u , they’re quite ‘relaxed’ about updating the dsl!)
