I would assume router would re-synch if Bitswap is disabled, alas I am not so familiar with BDC commands so will have to look into how to disable bitswap on the HG612, unless you have seen how to do this already ?

So looks like you have a choice to cap speeds at modem or disable bitswap ?

I do not know how to do either.

    xdslcmd configure –maxDataRate 35000 12000 100000

You will cap line to 35Mb on downstream, upstream stays at 12Mb. Cap working straight away once you hit enter and modem will resync with lower speed and higher snr(what should make your line more stable). To remove cap you will need to reboot modem. If you reboot modem accidentally you need to reapply cap.

Thanks.  So when the modem resycns will it disconnect the internet and give me a new IP ?

It may give you new IP, or may it be the same. When I capped my line last week I still was on same IP, but can’t guarantee.

    Edit

    Yes, it will disconnect.

No, not fed up, however you could entertain us a little bit

You sync now with 6.6 db snr on upstream, I wonder how your stats will looks like at 8 db snr on downstream

From this what I can see, amount of errors per day is pretty much same, so if you don’t help DLM, it will not change much more on your line.

A higher SNR will reduce synch speed/rate? slightly

@Mrk26 – I want to setup my modem and router for 2 cabled connection.  I have already reserved ip addresses on my router from 01 to 34 and also 100, the ip pool ending address is 254, what do you recommend i set the modem ip address to and the wan address of the router?  I want it to be clear and understand before i set it all up.

    Thanks in advance.
