Great FEC graph showing a couple of FEC peaks, will be interesting to produce a few more over the next few days to see if peaks / time are consistent

May 8, 2020 at 2:36 pm #7097Router just lost connection to modem, had to reboot modem to get connection back. Now my speeds have dropped. Interleaving has reduced

May 8, 2020 at 2:45 pm #7099Unfortunately INP 3.0 from 3.5, is not reduced as you are sync lower. DLM doing this what I suggested few dsys ago. Simply caped your line to increase snr (now to 7db) and lower speed. I suggested to cap minimum down to 35Mb to get 8db snr for faster results.

May 8, 2020 at 3:09 pm #7103If you can, run dsl stats for like hour or two now and post stats later. I doubt that snr at 7db will be sufficient, as previously you had between 6.6-6.8 I think.

May 8, 2020 at 3:28 pm #7105If Downstream rate = 35934 Kbps falls below 35, it may be worth considering the DrayteK is a more stable option given your line condition and increase in SNR reducing your line synch further ?
Good news about Interleave depth but if FastPath is not ever reached, it maybe a choice between Higher Synch rate vs Lower Interleave Depth and which option is more important to @Bully

May 8, 2020 at 3:51 pm #7111Both Graphs seem to show a small FEC spike every 30 mins and a Large increase every hour ?
Does that match anything electrical in your house ?

Nothing obvious I’m affraid.

May 8, 2020 at 5:37 pm #7113Before I sort out issues with my line, I had very similar situation. FEC errors in bursts, milions every day, electrical devices paranoia, even turned off everything in house apart of modem and router, still same. Once I fitted brand new filtered face plate and run direct cat5e from master socket to living room where is my modem all settled.
As @Bully got already cat5e running from master socket (unfiltered socket) to modem my only bet is filtered faceplate.
Could you please post fresh stats (if you can)

May 8, 2020 at 6:02 pm #7114My filtered faceplate was only fitted a couple of months ago by a BT engineer.

To much tinkering – DLM is the Governor ;-)
@Mrk26- when you had you FEC issues and replaced your Master Socket, did you still have high FEC when plugged directly into test socket, just curious ?

May 8, 2020 at 7:13 pm #7118I never plugged to the front of the socket I done mine inside the socket. I used cat5e cable which have 4 pairs. One pair connected same as on @Bully to filtered extension and one pair on back of faceplate to unfiltered idc for direct connection to modem. On top of that my modular socket for telephone even that is not needed is also filtered. Only downside of this solution is that if something will go wrong with my filtered faceplate I may not be able to spot that 😛

May 8, 2020 at 7:26 pm #7119The Test Socket as per pic, did you get any FEC ?
(not a pic a my socket – just a picture from google images)
