Because it is all the same, Germany or Italy or UK, it is all region Europe with same restrictions.
And even all Europe allows ch. 120-128 they usually dont support them because there could be radar and easier for them to disable it completely.
On my old RT-AC68U it was possible to set region #a (worldwide testregion with no restrictions) and you could set really all channels, 1-14/32-64/100-144 (only 149+ wasnt supported by hardware) and with full 700mW power on all channels (over 300mW slower due to more distortions).
Newer RT-AC86U bought in china had option to change region, Europe had most channels only missing 120-128 and 149+, much more than US or Australia.
If you bought it somewhere else you couldnt change region and it was fixed to your purchase region.

They have only about 5 regions and so GB is EU (not EU but region Europe).
And so there are minimal settings used to cover all countries in this region.
At least that is true for their RT routers.

you could try to first change WAN port to LAN1 instead of DSL and then connect as Aimesh-node.

buggy client list since 2 years but should be better now.
Clients on mesh-child wont be shown on mesh-master AFAIK.

Yes would be nice, but you cant compare 86U with 7590 which is router like much more a 68U.
And it has vplus-modem, DECT, ISDN, POTS as well integrated instead of more powerful CPU like 86U, so they come to the same price level.

And 801.11 k/v support could help Aimesh a lot with band/node steering.

Not supported on router, you can use apps to VPN to your home network.
For clients in your network a client based VPN is much better and faster anyway.
Hardware isnt designed to run reliable VPN with encryption.
Its not a 50-in-1 device where 49 wont work like Asus, 68U will get 20Mb/s and so not really usefull too.
You could use a Pi for your needs I think.

If you have new clients like Intel 9260 you can even enable 160MHz bandwith which will double WiFi speed on intranet (o/c you still stay limited to internet by your line).
I know RJ11 and RJ45 are fully compatible! Though some will complain that outer pins may be bent up, but usually they are elastically enough to go down again, and WTF we dont need them except you have ISDN instead of POTS and then you have to use RJ45 anyway.
Yes German AVM programmers do a good job, others in the world would or could do the same. But NOT Chinese and all other consumer products nowadays will come from there

PS: You should go out for a walk and then do “something even better” too.

whats the problem to find it???
https://www.asus.com/Networking/DSLAC68U/HelpDesk_Download/
select OS others (last item) and download … or use my direct DL link.
It lasts some time (days) till it is deployed to all their sites if you use UK-site only.
