yes, was aware but looks like interface etc has changed and couldn’t find details of how to turn leds off. I saw some reference to power save mode but only in reference to APs.

no actual model exactly but maybe 1930 or 2530 switches? Was considering a 48:port but it looks like finless only up to 24 port switches (non Poe). So might have to go 24port.

Hi all,

Just to confirm, after discussion with energy provided few weeks back now (sorry forgot to update here) that they initially said I was on a fixed price so rate is fixed and wouldn’t drop, I then pointed them to there website webpage paragraph which indicates *some* fixed tariffs would see unit prices dropped by a certain amount or to the new gov cap rate.  They then apologised and said they were not aware of it or there colleagues but now they are and could confirm mine would be dropped *BUT* only for 3 months to the gov cap rate as that is all they have agreed with the government so far so will wait and see what happens after 3 months.

But good news is now paying 10.3p for gas.  As said Elec isn’t affected as that is on a fixed deal for a while back and ends next year so that’s still significantly cheaper than the gov cap rate so will see what happens in March 2023 to see if prices come down any or continue to go up.

From the looks for things at the moment, I can’t see then dropped much, if at all

Thanks, yes, so far this has kept working, just simply reboot the gigaset box and it connects fine.  Just annoying to have to keep turning it off and on :)

I saw your there post re the RT-AX86U Pro – doesn’t seem to be too much of a difference between the 2 models so don’t feel like I’m missing out :)

The RT-AX86U has so far been pretty good.  Only issue has been with Sonos devices really which I’ve basically given up with as they just don’t seem to want to stay connected and are the first gen models which we know sonos are not really supporting now but I’m certainly not paying out for the newer versions, they cost a fair bit in the first place.

Other than that, its mostly been ok, updates have all completed with no issues.  Think there was 1 update where the text changed in one view on the router but no real issue, it still worked and displayed info, it was fixed on subsequent release/update.

Not updated since Jan, seen some issues with the updates since then so I’ve stayed put.

That reminds me I must update another thread on here….

Thanks, i saw one post re PPOE disconnects but seems people think its ok to update so I might hold of as don’t want internet connection issues..

What’s the 388 build? more than just the general updates? is it a new interface?

Anyone tried it yet? I still updated to the previous one yet as was some issues so left it a while.

Hi @Bully Thanks for the reply, sorry I must of missed your reply to this thread.

I’ve read some reviews sayings its a “basic” OLED (expertreviews) but not sure how to take that.  Is basic OLED still significantly better than the existing LED TVs? I’m thinking it should be significantly better but never really looked at OLED as always been big TVs and I not seen one of these TVs in a shop yet anywhere.

Yes, so far I’ve not found one.  It seems some are just an alert (no notifications to app/phone) and others need a hub etc :(

Thanks, did the Bosch have a audible alarm or did it just send a notification to your mobile/tablet? If it was audible alert, could you silence it remotely i.e if you were out?

I’ll have to check the Bosch one out also if so and see how it compares.  Don’t really want the smartthings hub, ideally wanted a single device – the water leak detector and have it connect to WIFI and send notifications but i only saw the one i posted which has put me off slightly as means buying 2 devices and the smartthings hub isn’t overly cheap, just for it to manage 1 or maybe 2 water leak detectors at most.

Thanks, will check out DNS and see if anything is up.  My MECM server is not on all the time, only when i want it so i can rule that out as a possible issue although hard to see how it would be but is only new box I’ve setup.

Not updated the router as I recall there was some potential issues some were running into so decided to fold fire and as this version of the firmware has been fine since I’ve had it, I’m keen to leave it as is for now as I know it can’t be that as I’ve been running it for a few months now without any issues so don’t want to update it and add that to the mix of possible issues.

Will check out DNS when I next need to turn the server on.

The server is my main server that all clients are connected to (domain) so when server is off, they login with cached credentials and work fine albeit network shares are obviously unavailable if server is off but I got nas where I store most stuff so only turn server on when i need to access DBs or other data I store on the server.

Hi all & @Bully

So I was just re-looking at this as not made any decision yet and I noticed this:

Looks like Panasonic now have a 42″ OLED 4k tv….. What’s the opinions on this tv? Any good or worth waiting till next years model as this maybe there first smaller OLED TV as I don’t recall them doing one this size previously, always been 48 or higher.

Got my £60 :) It does appear fixed rates will be reduced by x amount or to 10.3p.  For me, it is likely to be 10.3p, however my provider is saying “some fixed tariffs will change” but the government article implies all fixed tariffs will change so waiting to hear more, website says it will update which fixed tariffs will change so waiting to see.  In theory, I should still have 2 options..

1. Remain on this fix and pay rate of the fix which is less than 1p a unit more.
2. Should be able to exit the tariff for free up until Nov according to government advise so will see if that applies to my provider also, if not, they given me £60 so I could still effectively exit and it has cost me nothing :)

My online account still says transferring but it is showing the correct amount for my DD next month, I just can’t view the accounts separately so to speak, I can only add fund to Elec and view the tariffs for Elec & Gas atm.

I think I underestimated the cost my DD should be at but tbh not a big issue as I was going to add some money to my account anyway as I got my credit back from EDF just to cover any additional costs above normal during winter to avoid them increasing my DD hopefully as any excess will be taken from money in the account and not my bank :)

Hi,

So slightly odd. the box didn’t connect again so I did the usual change of port and all is well again.

So now scenario is gigaset box is set to use different ports to that I specifically allowed on router firewall (thinking this was causing a issue).

However, it appears it is not the firewall as the issue occurred again so this time I powered off the gigaset box, waited couple seconds, powered it back on and its then registered all is ok.

So for some reason, it would appear gigaset box boots up before router and only tries once to register with provider and then stops as when power cycled, it registers fine as router is already up and working.

Gigaset is hardwired to the router also so not like wifi is a issue or anything.

But thankfully, its is a easy fix and it looks like I can do away with my router firewall rule as not required.
