I decided to do a little experiment today, I never seen how perform old eci modem on fastpatch, when I connect it I couldn’t believe…
Asus sync with max 75500 and actual data rate is 74364, where eci sync with max speed of 78500 actual data rate was 78100, booth on fastpatch…
Beee asus, fuuuu ππ
Looks like asus perform better only on interleave, on fastpatch stayed behind old eci with chaos calmer on board π
Just for reference I’m connected to eci cabinet.

December 6, 2019 at 9:02 pm #5246No problem, unfortunately g.inp not working yet on eci. I tried to use eci as modem only and asus dsl-ac88u as router with login to ppoe session but for some reason asus don’t want to cooperate, it was working perfectly on rt-ac68u but dsl-ac88u just didn’t connect. Any ideas? π€

December 6, 2019 at 9:11 pm #5248Yes, it is, and I put login details and all ppoe settings exactly the same as in rt-ac68u, and it didn’t work…

December 6, 2019 at 9:51 pm #5255If under WAN > Internet Connection > Transfer Mode / Ethernet WAN (or WAN) I forget which it is for the DSL-AC88U
And set WAN Connection Type is PPPoE and on the bottom of that page you enter ISP Account username and password details
If you have done this, then this does sound like another feature on the DSL-AC88U that does not work ?

December 6, 2019 at 10:02 pm #5256Yes, connection through wan, then user name and password in next step, press connect after about 30 seconds pop up message that limit was exceeded and option for try again or wifi settings, so I skipped auto config and go to wan settings, set all exactly same as on rt-ac68u and it didn’t connect. Plugged back rt-ac68u to eci and all good.
Not sure if this have something to do with switch between internet from dsl port and wan, so going this route probably as you said another fw issue.

December 7, 2019 at 8:25 pm #5271If you use modem in bridge mode you need to use ppoe authentication through asus by typing in asus type of connection (ppoe), username and password. If your asus is set to get ip automatically you are connected to modem-router?
I start thinking if I didn’t mess up something with fw on eci (updated dsl fw only) but as far I remember it worked before I switched to dsl-ac88u… Maybe it just died? π€
Will flash from scratch chaos calmer and will go from there…
