Probably defrost falls victim to energy saver, because it needs power for heating. So it wont run automatically or in much larger intervalls too long for correct function.

Just test it on your own!
Turn off power on main-fuse and on again.
If an additional power off after router is running and connected again on your Gigaset solves your problem use a 5 min. delayed power-on switch on you Gigaset.
Might be because of different IP after power down?
Reducing DHCP-leases could solve it too, just try it.You need to login in order to vote
Radar dedection takes some time (after hit at least an hour) to use this channel again and must be finished before the router may use it.
So it is senseless to have a look after restart. If you use ch. 36-64 it should be much faster, but with less power.

Asus refused my warrenty some years ago too as they dont call it worldwide warrenty, you have to contact Asus in correct country.
Had much fun from chinese seller … forget them all together with Asus!
Nobody will help you.
Had luck and could sell it for more than I paid for, it was not a HW-defect but unusable for me due to FW problems. And same with a netbook bought in Germany (in EU too), so this is strategy for all their products.

Maybe you have to accept that the WAN-port has gone for good.
Either due to overvoltage oder something else. You can have a look at the pins, are they all 8 straight up and parallel inside the socket?

In the range of 200m they do perform similarly in real life (with much noise and old copper), G.fast may get its power only upto 150m.You need to login in order to vote
Nothing wrong with this box, but maybe inside there are bad contacts, you could open it and have a look inside for verification.
Maybe reconnect wires could help if there is a fault. But they should be able to measure such things from network side.

I know it has, but it was advertised to be used instead of LAN (or WLAN) between 2 locations which you have connected only by 2-wires (e.g. from old phone).
So it can act as DSL-“master” like on provider side, it has never been said to be an G.fast modem. You need to login in order to vote
And it is still not even clear to the community whether 5550 G.fast is meant to support it on DSL from provider or only use is to provide G.fast internally to another G.fast modem in your private network on old phone wires – some asume to be the latter.
But nobody can tell as it has been presented in 2019 and never has been seen by an user, I think it will never arrive.
