@kev2021- been over year since you had your new Haier I-Pro Series 5 washing machine installed.
Hows the washing machine lasting, has it still been faultless ?

Working flawlessly for over a year. Other than the initial hiccup, which was the installers fault, I have had no issues. Hope it serves us as well as and as long as the last Hotpoint one did.

. UK Sentinel Said:@Dodgydrains: So I had a chat with ASUS and seems that for certain ASUS models, they have removed all previous firmware releases, i.e. the XT8 which we know about.
ASUS say previous firmware’s have been removed due to Issues.
At least we now know the firmware removal was intentional

I had a feeling it was deliberate as they removed all previous FW at the same time as they released the November FW.
No worries for me as I have kept all previous FW for the XT8 V1 on my PC.

Have Asus removed all the previous FW from the support page? I can only see the latest November release.

The changelog seems exactly the same as 24684.
It looks like 24686 is only released for V1 and V2 is still on 24684 (I am checking on the Asus UK site).
Also, on the UK site I can only see 24684 (for V1) and 24684 (for V2). The older FW releases are not there.

Great news if both V1 and V2 will receive support for another 2 years. Hopefully by then, the ZenWifi BT10 will be more affordable. I have my eyes on four of those to replace the 4x XT8’s.

I have been testing FW 24668 for more than a day now without issues. For my use case all recent FW have been rock solid even on 160MHz backhaul without any drops.

Terrible news. It means roughly 5 years of FW support and still a lot of people facing issues with the latest FW releases.

As a complete newcomer to this, are there any specific advantages to moving to the custom firmware? Apologies if this question has been answered a thousand times.
I have 4 x XT8’s currently running 3004.388.8_2-gnuton1. I just find it better layout looking at the router stats.
There are a lot more advanced features on GNUton.
If you are not going to use these additional features, best to stay on stock.
With GNUton, FW update is done manually.
Both have been equally stable on latest stock FW and GNUton for me.
If you use the XT8’s on Access Point mode on GNUton, there is a known bug with the Asus GPL:

The middle hob on my Beko 5 burner Gas Hob broke, and is well outside the warranty period (12 years now, I think).
Purchased this new one directly from Samsung for £209 via perksatwork (the company I work for partners with them to give staff discounts with major online retailers).

I used the £50 voucher I received from Samsung when buying the S24 Ultra during launch.
Delivery was delayed by 2/3 days, I contacted Samsung CEO office who expedited delivery and then gave me another £30 voucher. Now just need to find a gas safe installer.
Ended up paying £159 and got another £30 voucher

. UK Sentinel Said:@dodgydrains – how’s the new Haier I-Pro Series 5 washing machine, it’s been a few months since you purchased the Haier I-Pro Series 5, is it still working well ?
In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).
It’s been working flawlessly for me.
The washing machine is extremely quiet, even during the spin cycles.
If I had to come up with a negative (this would be a nit pick) the touch screen can be very sensitive. Couple of times washing machine turned off with just a brush of clothes on the screen whilst walking past it to grab something nearby.
I am well pleased with it, plus it was not very expensive. The £50 cashback came through after a slight hitch with providing an invoice. The cashback seems to be run by a third party, not Haier directly. Buying directly from Haier meant there was no PDF invoice, just the email confirmations. Eventually worked after contacting Haier for assistance.

I have done this before with Octopus, and it worked without any issues for me.

I definitely hope this is not EoL yet. ASUS have finally sorted out the FW on the XT8.
Shame about the bad press ASUS are getting with the repairs and customer services shenanigans on YouTube.
